BiS Gear
In season 3 we'll be looking to move away from Zeraleth's Scythe. The combinations of Major Traits (Heroic Brand, Visions Of Grandeur, etc.) we now have access to simply pushes Elheryn's Cache ahead in ult generation, damage and healing.
The cloak Legendary which was so prominent in Season 1 especially was completely reworked (The Mad Gardener's Shawl) and now grants 2 charges of Ironleaf Ward and gives the ability haste accelerated cooldown reduction. It also now spawns 4 Prickly Vine on cast of Ironleaf Ward.
We will generally opt for the Loop Of Unyielding Bloom as a result. Though its worth noting that due to the Symbiosis rework and Life Petal/Safe Haven synergies, the Bands Of The First Dryad can absolutely be built around, but is weaker than the other two options.
The Mad Gardener's Shawl has emerged as the legendary for aspirational content in season 3. However, I would still recommend that less experienced players play with the Loop Of Unyielding Bloom, as it hardly changes your play style and is a less punishing build.
As far as relics go, aim to be taking dungeon specific utility relics for your team as required, such as Ancient Poultry Fetish, Ancient Wardstone, Humming Portalstone and Orb Of Shadows. When these relics aren't required, Sinbinding Stone and Grimoire Of Resurrection are consistently valuable. You might feel inclined to run Chalice, but in general the mana is overkill.
Legendaries
For the general population, Loop Of Unyielding Bloom is going to be our go-to legendary. This Legendary causes overhealing from your Heart Bloom to accumulate as an absorb shield. This shield has a maximum value relative to your intellect.
There is potential, based on the balance in the end game, that the new reworked The Mad Gardener's Shawl will be required to keep our tanks alive in aspirational content. Using this Legendary will allow for much greater Ironleaf Ward uptime and give us some extra Prickly Vine generation as a bonus. This legendary is also our best damage option.
Finally, Bands Of The First Dryad can be built around by selecting Safe Haven related talents and does buff our Life Petal. However, I don't believe it will be better than Loop Of Unyielding Bloom for the general population and certainly not better than The Mad Gardener's Shawl, assuming we're in a meta that requires the extra Ironleaf Ward uptime.
Weapons
In Early Access Season 3, Major Trait stacking is pushing Elheryn's Cache to be by far our best option. Unlike previous seasons, we can now benefit from Visions Of Grandeur and Martial Initiative at the same time. This in turn makes spamming your Elheryn's Cache charges buff your intellect, damage reduction and generate spirit points towards your ult while also being a source of instant damage and healing.
At this time, the other weapons are not worth considering in the end game. While leveling up, generally just use the weapon that is the highest rarity tier or item level available to you.
Gear Sets
Season 3 has also opened up our options to stack more set bonuses. This is mainly due to sockets only being available on a few gear pieces. This is unlike in Season 1 and 2 where they were available on all pieces except our weapon and relics. In season 3 we can use up to 4 set bonuses at once. 2 sets from 3 boss dungeons and 2 sets from 1 boss dungeons.
The main set bonuses we'll be looking to run are the ones that provides consistent stats and the new gem power set. Note that the gem power set is only really worth using in the late game. These are Torment Of Bael'aurum, Tuzari Grace, Seal Of The Heskyr and Sin Warding. Dark Prophecy is also a solid option.
In my setup, I'm aiming to use Tuzari Grace or Sin Warding, Torment Of Bael'aurum and Seal Of The Heskyr.
Relics
Relics are entirely utility focused in Fellowship and they mostly aren’t unique to specific heroes so it allows for a lot of change. While you can use any relic, there are a couple that are considerably notable and arguably the best of the bunch in a general sense.
Sylvie is a great utlity-relic-holder. She will not suffer greatly from the varying stats and ultimately her stats are less important than those of your dps and tank. Offer to run utility relics when your routes call for them.
General Value Relics
Sinbinding Stone - Grants 15% damage reduction to yourself and nearby allies for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. This Relic is extremely powerful, particularly on some of the harder bosses in the game.
Grimoire Of Resurrection - A simple combat rez. It has a small cast time with a 5 minute cooldown. Great for progression content.
Utility Relics (dungeon specific)
Ancient Wardstone - Instantly dispel all harmful magic effects from yourself and allies on a 2 minute cooldown. This can be extremely good in some dungeons depending on how you’re pulling.
Saltwash Elixir - Instantly heals you for 40% of your max hp on a 2 minute cooldown.
Ancient Poultry Fetish - Turns your target into a chicken. Permanently. This cannot be used on Bosses but there are pulls in dungeons where utilizing this Relic makes life so much easier. It has shared uses by the party on a 3 minute cooldown, so its value lessens with multiple users in the same party, alongside the fact there are much better relics on offer.
Orb Of Shadows - Party wide invisibility for 15 seconds on a 6 minute cooldown. There aren’t too many notable uses of this but it can be strong if you plan around skipping packs with this.
Bloodrite Drums - A 12 second, 50% movespeed increase for you and your allies. It’s not great.
Humming Portalstone- Opens an interactable portal. You can only have 1 of these active at any time and there is a short cooldown on how often you can take the portal. It has a 2 minute cooldown. With coordinated play it could be useful but for most it’s not a great option.
If you are really struggling to keep your mana pool sustained and you already have the Natural Knowledge talent, you can consider running Chalice. Generally, this should be avoided. Natural Knowledge is such a powerful mana battery and the playstyle of the recommended build has a low requirement for mana as we are not spamming Restore Life.
