Legendaries

Let me start off by saying that we do not yet know what Legendary will be best at the start of the season. Through experience and experimentation we will learn what is the best. Updates will be done to this guide as more becomes known.

Because of the new gearing system the amount of synergies between all the different item modifiers is vast. Lets discuss the important interactions that affect the legendaries.

Eldrin Signet Of Undulating Spirits

This legendary is quite versatile. Every Winter's Blessing, in conjunction with Icy Talons, you can in essence spend 15 winter's orbs in a single Winter's Embrace window. This allows you to deal a tonne of burst damage. The secondary effect is that you will gain an extra 4 spirit points because every spirit refund gives Rime 2 extra spirit points. Making it well suited for a Spirit ultimate focused build. This is not something I would recommend but could be fun to experiment with.

One draw back of Eldrin Signet Of Undulating Spirits is that the refund does not check if you would have gotten a spirit refund regardless of the effect of the Legendary. Meaning you could spend 1 stack of the Legendary even if that would have been a spirit refund anyway. The extra 50 spirit points at the start of a dungeon is a nice bonus.

Blessings Synergies

  • The Monarch: More casts of Winter's Blessing, Ice Blitz, and Flight Of The Navir
  • The Philosopher: 10% extra haste, expertise, and crit during your 15 winter's orb spending windows
  • The Trickster: Increased Crit during your 15 winter's orb spending windows
  • The Mystic: Winter's Blessing increases spirit which increases the damage of your big spender windows

Drakesblood Tapestry

Offers a very simple rotation, high damage output, and empowers the already amazing Beam build. When indexing power into this legendary you will obviously take many of the Freezing Torrent related talents.

Blessings Synergies

  • The Sinister: 20% More crit power is a huge boost to the power of Soulfrost Torrent.
  • The Vehement: The damage of the poison explosion is based off the damage of the basic ability. The legendary greatly empowers your Cold Snap which is a basic ability. If you keep track of The Vehement stacks and time the explosion with your empowered Cold Snap the Area of effect damage will be exceptional.
  • The Vainglorious: The damage of the poison explosion is based off the damage of the basic ability. Not sure of the exact interaction between vehement and vainglorious yet the potential of this synergy is there.

Skandi's Bands Of Endless Winter

Most of the strength of Rime in the late game will be based on Ice Blitz and Cascading Blitz. This Legendary generates so much anima that it is a crucial part of enabling Frost Swallows generation and thus Cascading Blitz uptime.

There are no important synergies like the previous Legendaries.

Legendaries also affect gameplay and rotation so make sure to check out Playstyle & Rotation section.

Weapons

Rime actually has a couple of options when it comes to weapons. There is a best weapon that stands above the rest, but the others are still definitely usable. Early game your weapon ability will be a larger part of your overall damage compared to late game. That is why Frozen Staff Of An'zhyr and Void-Touched Conduit are good weapons for damage early on in the game as their benefit is upfront damage.

Asha's Chronoshift Spire's strength lies in the CDR it provides. Giving you Cooldown Reduction on Ice Blitz for Cascading Blitz builds or Winter's Blessing for builds running Eldrin Signet Of Undulating Spirits.

You have the option to invest in alternative weapons early to progress through the leagues faster or be a bit weaker early and have a Asha's Chronoshift Spire ready for late-game.

Asha's Chronoshift Spire - Our Best in Slot Weapon. This weapon is a channelled AoE that pulses damage around you. While you channel, you get 400% increased CDR and take 50% reduced damage. While it's damage is strong and the potential for the weapon is high, it really begins to shine late game. When your Talent build and item modifiers are more fleshed out.

Void-Touched Conduit - This weapon applies a debuff to your target for 15 seconds which stores 10% of all the damage you deal and once you have done a certain amount of damage or the effect expires, it explodes to deal additional damage to the target. It’s a very good priority damage option that always explodes prior to expiration.

Frozen Staff Of An'zhyr - This weapon can be used off of the global GCD and conjures 3 waves that deal damage to all enemies that are hit by it and applying a permanent dot on each target. While it's single target damage is a little lacking, it makes up for it in large AoE damage.

Gear Sets

Set Bonuses are very strong in Early Access Season 3, especially in the early game before you reach Eternal. Given the opportunity, try to wear as many as you can. You are still bound by the pieces that drop tier sets which is tied to the dungeon type. Meaning Draconic Might, Dark Prophecy, and Drakheim's Absolution will drop on Head, shoulder, chest, legs, neck inside 3 boss dungeons. The rest of the sets will drop on cloak, hands, wrist, rings, and boots.

Set Restrictions: You can wear two sets from Capstone Dungeons (3-boss) and two sets from Adventure Dungeons (1-boss).

Seal Of The Heskyr makes incredibly efficient use of two item Modifier slots. Once you reach 1,000 Gem Power, this set exceeds the value you would gain from having two Imbued Essence Modifiers instead (which would provide +200 Gem Power).

Once you reach the late game and you have Rank 4 Flawless gems, the extra Gem Power this set provides is massive.

Death's Grasp The execute is very strong with an added bonus of 4% spirit. Now that through Rising Spirit the value of spirit has gone up it makes this set mandatory.

Draconic Might: This is the 18% Intellect on crit proc set. This averages around 25% uptime and is good value for the slots.

Dark Prophecy: This is the 25% haste proc on spell cast set. This averages around 25% uptime and is good value for the slots.

Drakheim's Absolution: This is the 20% Intellect on Spirit Ultimate use set. This set is good for maximizing the DPS potential of your Wrath Of Winter windows. This set could turn out to be the best set when combined with a build that focuses on Spirit Ults.

Relics

Relics are entirely utility focused in Fellowship and they mostly aren’t unique to specific heroes so it allows for a lot of change. While you can use any relic, there are some that have more versatility in a general sense.

S-Tier Relics

Sinbinding Stone - Grants 15% damage reduction to yourself and nearby allies for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. This Relic is extremely powerful, particularly on some of the harder bosses in the game.

A-Tier Relics

Grimoire Of Resurrection - A simple combat rez. It has a small cast time with a 5 minute cooldown. Great if your party lacks the ability to rez.

Ancient Wardstone - Instantly dispel all harmful magic effects from yourself and allies on a 2 minute cooldown. This can be extremely good in some dungeons depending on how you’re pulling.

Saltwash Elixir - Instantly heals you for 40% of your max hp on a 2 minute cooldown.

Ancient Poultry Fetish - Turns your target into a chicken. Permanently. This cannot be used on Bosses but there are pulls in dungeons where utilizing this Relic makes life so much easier. It has shared uses by the party on a 3 minute cooldown, so its value lessens with multiple users in the same party, alongside the fact there are much better relics on offer.

B-Tier Relics

Orb Of Shadows - Party wide invisibility for 15 seconds on a 6 minute cooldown. There aren’t too many notable uses of this but it can be strong if you plan around skipping packs with this.

Bloodrite Drums - A 12 second, 50% movespeed increase for you and your allies. It’s not great.

Humming Portalstone - Opens an interactable portal. You can only have 1 of these active at any time and there is a short cooldown on how often you can take the portal. It has a 2 minute cooldown. With co-ordinated play it could be useful but for most it’s not a great option.
