BiS Gear
The Best in Slot (BiS) Legendary, Weapon and Relics for Mara are shown below.
Legendaries
On Mara we have access to 3 Legendaries, Treads Of Vexira's Prey & Assassin's Shadow-Lined Cape are both a step above Stalker's Crimson Chain depending on build
Treads Of Vexira's Prey - This Legendary makes your Queen's Fang and Arachnid Assault crits apply a DoT debuff to targets, dealing 25% of the initial damage over 6 seconds. This deals significant damage and greatly increases our resource generation through the Venomous Delight talent.
Assassin's Shadow-Lined Cape - This legendary increases the tick rate of our Hemorrhaging Strike DoT by 15% and gives each tick a 16% chance to spawn a shadowy close that uses a 6 combo point Queen's Fang on the target (these triggered Queen's Fangs will not benefit from most Queen's Fang modifiers)
Stalker's Crimson Chain - This legendary gives us a 24% increased expertise buff for 8 seconds upon getting a spirit proc, which turns spirit into a valuable stat for us.
Weapons
Mara has a couple of good options when it comes to weapons. The Best in Slot (BiS) Weapon for Mara is Sahril's Reckoning, with Fateful Dagger being a slightly worse alternative.
Sahril's Reckoning - This is our best overall weapon now. The Crit chance it provides in combination with Matriarch Macabre on big AoE pulls leads to massive damage. This weapon is even better in dungeons where the boss(es) let you hit multiple enemies with it.
Fateful Dagger - This is our overall second best weapon. The cooldown recovery increase it provides makes Mara feel so much more fluid and engaging to play, while providing the best single target output.
Gear Sets
Set bonuses have the capacity to be very powerful. Different dungeons drop different sets allowing us to target farm our best in slot bonuses. On a character with 92 (current cap) gems we'll only want 2 of our gear pieces to be set items and the rest to be socketed items because of how gem power works. This allows us to retain access to a set bonus while reaching a good break-point of gem power. Below I’ve listed the three most important set bonuses you’ll want to acquire for Mara.
Death's Grasp: This set gives us a 15% damage multiplier against enemies below 30% health along with 3% flat spirit. Very good overall and especially against bosses and enemies that become more dangerous when they're low on health. This will be our overall best set, that we will wear if we have room for it in our setup and while gearing up.
Draconic Might: This set gives us a chance on critical hits to get a buff for an 18% increase to Agility for 14 seconds, it has a ppm of 0.9 that scales with crit chance, meaning with more sheet crit we have the more procs we will get. This is overall a very good set as well, only slightly behind Death's Grasp. We'll want to wear this while gearing up at the earlier stages of progression.
Drakheim's Absolution: This set gives a 20% increase to agility during the duration of our Matriarch Macabre, allowing us to deal even more damage during it. we'll will want to wear this set if we need extra burst during our ultimate for key moments in dungeons.
Relics
The relics in Fellowship are almost entirely utility focused and they are therefore very situational, although there are some that are much more generally useful than others
Universally Useful Relics:
Sinbinding Stone - Grants 15% damage reduction to yourself and nearby allies for 15 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. This Relic is extremely powerful, particularly on some of the harder bosses in the game.
Generally Useful Relics:
Grimoire Of Resurrection - A simple combat ress. It has a small cast time with a 5 minute cooldown. Great if your party lacks the ability to ress.
Ancient Wardstone - Instantly dispel all harmful magic effects from yourself and allies on a 2 minute cooldown. This can be extremely good in some dungeons depending on how you’re pulling.
Ancient Poultry Fetish - Turns your target into a chicken. Permanently. This cannot be used on Bosses but there are pulls in dungeons where utilizing this Relic makes life so much easier. It has shared uses by the party on a 3 minute cooldown, so its value lessens with multiple users in the same party, alongside the fact there are generally better relics on offer.
Orb Of Shadows - Party wide invisibility for 15 seconds on a 6 minute cooldown. Very good relic that let's your party skip large portions of a dungeon, carries a bit of risk until you light a campfire, as it has a large cooldown.
Humming Portalstone - Opens an interactable portal. You can only have 1 of these active at any time and there is a 20 second cooldown on how often you can take the portal. It has a 2 minute cooldown. This relic let's you skip difficult packs in different dungeons and let's you route more aggressively, which is very useful situationally.
Saltwash Elixir - Restores 40% of maximum health on a 2 minute cooldown. Good if nothing else seems appealing, or you don't trust your healer.
