Spirit Kings Raid Guide for Mogu’shan Vaults MoP Classic

This fight is a 4 phase fight, during which you will fight each king one by one. But as the fight progresses, each defeated king lends one of its abilities to the next, making the fight slightly harder. The order in which you fight each king is entirely random, so we will present you each one and which ability carries on.

Qiang the Merciless

Against Qiang the Merciless, the whole raid needs to be stacked on the tank to spread the damage from Massive Attacks.

You will need to dodge the Annihilate damage cone together, and avoid Flanking Orders, a wall of soldiers walking through the room.

While you’re dodging, it’s very important to stay together. If not, isolated targets will be one shot by Massive Attacks.

Flanking Orders is the spell carried on once Qiang is dead.

Subetai the Swift

Against Subetai the Swift, keep the raid in melee, except for 3 players that need to stay in range, and away from each other. This will bait Rain of Arrows to always hit those 3 players. The best choices are range DPS or Healers that can dodge the ability like Mages or Warlocks.

You can use a Blessing of Protection to instantly remove Pinning Arrow. Beside this, you just need to dodge the damage area from Volley and move away from the boss when he dashes on someone and spins with Pillage.

Pillage is the spell carrying over.

Zian of the Endless Shadow

Against Zian of the Endless Shadow, kick Shadow Blast, and dodge the AoE if the spell goes through. Try to stay at least 8 yards from each other to mitigate the damage from Charged Shadows.

Zian will target a random player with Undying Shadows. They need to run away from the spell following them, while every ranged DPS focuses on it. Melee can’t help as Undying Shadows deals damage to anyone close to it.

Undying Shadows is the spell carrying over.

Meng the Demented

Finally, Meng the Demented will switch between 2 states: Crazed and Cowardice. During Crazed, he will deal ramping damage to the tank. During Cowardice, he will reflect the damage he takes. Be careful to not kill yourself once he reaches 60% insanity (his energy bar) and stop DPSing.

His last spell is Maddening Shout. Everyone becomes hostile, and you need to take 60k damage from other players to become friendly again. To deal with this, do light AoE damage only.

Maddening Shout is the ability carried over.

Spirit Kings 25 Man & Heroic Raid Guide MoP Classic

In 25 man, nothing changes.

In Heroic, there are a few changes. Order is fixed to: Qiang, Subetai, Zian, Meng. Flanking Orders now summons 2 walls of soldiers. Each king also gains a new ability:

  • Qiang gains Impervious Shield. Stop any DPS when he uses this ability, and use an aggressive Dispel to remove the shield.
  • Subetai gains Sleight of Hand. Stop any DPS, and use a crowd control effect to stop this.
  • Zian gains Shield of Darkness. Stop any DPS, and dispel this from him.
  • Meng gains Delirious. Use an Enrage removal to stop the effect.
