Feng the Accursed Raid Guide for Mogu’shan Vaults MoP Classic
This is a 3 phase fight, the boss changes phases at 66% and 33% HP. During each phase, the boss will pick a new weapon in the room, changing his abilities. However, a few things won’t change during the fight.
First, Feng will always use Spirit Bolt. Just heal the damage. Secondly, Tanks will have access to new abilities. Relics, in the form of Blue and Purple floating tablets, will be dropped in the arena, giving access to Nullification Barrier and Shroud of Reversal, simply put, a very strong Barrier and a spell reflect. They will be used to counter some boss abilities. And finally, every weapon gives Feng a tank swap mechanic. However, if the damage type received from the tanks will change, you will always want to swap around 3 debuff stacks.
Phase 1
During the first phase, Feng picks up Fist Weapons. Aside from the tank mechanic, he will use Lighting Fists and Epicenter. Simply dodge the first one when you see him reaching for the ground. The second one is deadlier, and you have 3 ways to deal with it:
- Everyone stands in melee and the tank drops a Nullification Barrier, reducing damage taken to 0. This can be done for every second cast, as you have the Barrier for the 2nd and 4th Epicenter.
- Everyone goes as far as possible and use Healing cooldowns to keep everyone alive.
- Moments before the Epicenter, the tank with Shroud of Reversal uses it on himself and runs into a Lighting Fist. This will give him the opportunity to use Lighting Fist against Feng. Wait for an Epicenter, and use Lighting Fist to stun Feng and stop the cast.
Phase 2
When reaching 66% HP, Feng picks up a spear. Tank him in the center of the room.
He will imbue players with Wildfire spark. The targets need to run out of the raid, and wait at a designated spot until they drop flames.
Once it’s done, they can go back to the raid. It’s very important that every flame is dropped in roughly the same place. This is because of Draw Flame: Feng will attempt to absorb the flames, making them come to him. You can skip this by placing a Nullification Barrier between him and the flames. When you don’t have the barrier, it's down to your healers.
Phase 3
When reaching 33% HP, Feng picks up a staff. The two new abilities are Arcane Resonance and Arcane Velocity.
Resonance deals high amounts of damage to a single target, increasing with each player close to them. Simply isolate this player and heal them. Velocity is a big raid wide damage cast. Everyone groups up in melee, and healers keep the raid alive.
Once every two Arcane Velocity, you can negate the damage using a Nullification Barrier. If a player is targeted by Arcane Resonance, they will need to stand away from the raid and use defensive cooldowns to survive. Once Arcane Velocity ends, quickly run out as a player can get Arcane Resonance right when Arcane Velocity is over, killing everyone if your raid is still stacked.
Feng the Accursed 25 Man & Heroic Raid Guide MoP Classic
In 25 Man, nothing changes.
In Heroic Mode, there are two big changes. First, this fight is now a 4 phase fight with a new weapon: the Shield. During Phase 4, tank the boss facing away from the raid, roughly in the center of the room. He will deal damage to a few players with Chains of Shadow, but most importantly, he will throw his shield somewhere in the room and use Shiphoning Shield. When he does that, kill & control every adds that spawns: stop them from reaching the shield. You can use Nullification Barrier on the shield to instantly kill all the adds.
The second change is you choose which weapons Feng uses. In Heroic mode, each phase is deadlier due to Strength of Spirit. To make sure Feng picks up a weapon when reaching 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% HP, just bring him close to the weapon you want. The preferred order is: Staff, Shield, Fist, Spear.
