The Warrior DPS Phase 4 Best in Slot list for Classic Anniversary adds ZG to the loot pool, and while considered a catch-up raid, there are a good few items here.
Since Phase 4 mainly acts as a catch-up patch and introduces ZG into the raid pool, we will continue to focus a lot on BWL. For players who already possess the top gear from BWL, ZG will contribute only 4 or 5 at best, for Warriors, that number can be as few as 1. That said, given how hard getting gear can be, there are options in ZG we can look for.
The list below will feature the absolute best if you plan to do all forms of PvE content.
Note: Crafted gear and PvP gear will be included here, however, only if we have to, as we want to aim for pure loot drops where we can. Any major PvP/crafting alternatives will be in the alternative item list.
Warrior DPS Phase 4 Best-in-slot
Notes:
- Lionheart Helm is one of the best items to craft if you can afford it. If you could only craft one item, this is the one we'd recommend.
- Edgemaster's Handguards are a must for any Warrior not playing a Human or Orc. Much like the Lionheart Helm, it can be expensive, but it's worth it.
- PvP is a big part of plate DPS loot, sadly, with Tier sets for Warrior DPS being tank-focused, PvP becomes a major place to build up your Bis list.
- The Eye of Hakkar is our only real upgrade in ZG, and it's barely an upgrade on the neck from Onyxia.
Best-in-Slot Alternative items
For many reasons, we can’t always get the BiS item we want. Given Classic Anniversary has much tighter Phase turnarounds, so guilds won’t even see an item. This is mostly an issue for Warriors in the weapon department, with Rogues also competing for most of the same items as you.
Here are some alternatives for each slot, along with instructions on how to obtain them.
Slot | Alternative |
Head | Lionheart Helm - Crafted Blacksmithing/BoE |
Neck | Onyxia Tooth Pendant - Onyxia |
Shoulders | Warlord's Plate Shoulders or Field Marshal's Plate Shoulderguards Rank 14 PvP - Truestrike Shoulders - Drop from Pyroguard in UBRS |
Cloak | Cape of the Black Baron - Baron Rivendare Stratholme |
Chest | Malfurion's Blessed Bulwark - Ebonroc - BWL |
Wrist | Vambraces of the Sadist - Timmy the Cruel - Stratholme |
Gloves | Edgemaster's Handguards (alt BiS for Human and Orc) BOE or Aged Core Leather Gloves - Non Flamewaker Bosses in MC |
Belt | Highlander's Plate Girdle or Defiler's Plate Girdle - Honoured with Arathi Basin faction |
Legs | Sentinel's Plate Legguards or Outrider's Plate Legguards - Exalted with WSG Faction or Devilsaur Leggings from LW |
Boots | General's Plate Boots or Marshal's Plate Boots - Rank 12 PvP |
Ring | Master Dragonslayer's Ring - Nefarian Head quest or Don Julio's Band AV Exalted |
Trinket | Diamond Flask ST Quest (used for Flask build) - Blackhand's Breadth Final part of the Onyxia pre-quest for Alliance or For The Horde quest |
Main Hand | Grand Marshal's Longsword or High Warlord's Cleaver (Rank 14 PvP - this is the BiS) or Vis'kag the Bloodletter - Onyxia |
Off Hand | Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight - Lashlayer - BWL or Doom's Edge Trash in BWL |
2H | Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood - Nefarian - BWL |
Range | Blastershot Launcher - Golemagg - MC |
As you can see, this could easily be a Phase 3 BiS list. The Eye of Hakkar is the only minor upgrade on what we had before.
Best Talent Build for Warrior DPS in Phase 4
There really is just one major talent build when it comes to Warrior DPS in Phase 4. You may need to move points, Improved Demoralizing Shout or Improved Thunder Clap, if your guild requires it.

Best Warrior DPS Consumables for Raiding
When it comes to the best consumables, there are a fair few consumables that you can use to improve your damage or survivability during raids. Some of the below consumables are fairly expensive, so we’ve provided some alternatives that are cheaper.
Best Consumables
Consume Type | Name | Why it's good |
Flask | Flask of the Titans | While really a tank buff, having such a large amount of extra HP is nice. It's worth noting that, due to the economy being a wreck on Classic Fresh, these are probably too expensive to be worth getting. |
Elixir | Elixir of Giants | If you want a cheaper option for a Strength buff, then Elixir of Giants is a good option. |
Elixir | Elixir of the Mongoose | Mongoose is the best option for an Agility buff. However, there is a cheaper option. |
Elixir | Elixir of Greater Agility | Here is the cheaper option for an Agility buff. |
Potion | Mighty Rage Potion | This is like a health potion for DPS, except it makes you angry (gives you more Rage) |
Food | Prowler Steak | The best food to grab if you're a Warrior. There are alternatives. However, this food isn't expensive enough to need to get a cheaper version. |
Weapon Stone | Elemental Sharpening Stone | The best option for a Weapon Stone on Warrior, Dense Sharpening Stone, is an ok cheaper alternative. |
Other Consumes | R.O.I.D.S. | Can be used alongside other Strength buffs; however, it's unique, so use only on major progress. |
Other Consumes | Juju Power | A better version of Elixir of Giants, but harder to obtain. Best used on hard progress or if you want to parse high. |
Other Consumes | Juju Might | A really strong pure Attack Power buff, use Winterfall Firewater as a cheaper alternative, though it has a much lower uptime. |
Other Consumes | Winterfall Firewater | A cheaper, and more short-term version of Juju Might |
Other Consumes | Free Action Potion | Can be useful for certain fights, worth having in case your raid leader requires you to use them |
Other Consumes | Restorative Potion | Much like the Free Action Potion, check with your raid leader |
