Raid Setup

Introduction

The Shade of Akama encounter is essential an add-management fight in Phase 1 followed by a target dummy Phase 2.

This fight requires some add management from tanks while the rest of the raid frees the Shade of Akama from channelers holding him down. Once freed, players simply must kill the Shade before he kills the real Akama.

Fight Style: Add Phase and Single Target Phase

Recommended Setup: 2-3x Tank /5x Healer / 17-18x DPS

Required utilities: Healthstones and Personal Damage Reductions

Hero/Lust usage: Phase 2

Method Boss Review

This fight seems to be undertuned as most groups will be able to take down all the Ashtongue Channelers before the 2nd wave of adds spawns, leaving only about 4-6 adds total before Phase 2 will begin.

The only challenge here is moving out of Ashtongue Elementalist’s Rain Of Fire, as it does intense damage. Besides that, this is a very free boss.

Video Guide

Easy Mode

This is a 2 phase fight of an encounter that will be over before you can even blink. Phase 1 players must kill 6 channelers holding down the Shade, freeing him to fight the real Akama, while dealing with adds that spawn on each side of the room. Phase 2 is simply killing the Shade before he kills Akama.

Phase 1:

  • Have 1 tank on each side of the room by the hallway entrances where adds will spawn with healers in the middle of the room.
  • All DPS will be focused on taking down the Ashtongue Channelers ASAP.
  • Move out of Rain Of Fire.

Phase 2:

  • DPS down Shade of Akama while cleaving any remaining adds.
  • Move out of Rain Of Fire.

Strategy

Shade of Akama is a 2 phase fight with the first phase being an add fight that has very long timers between add phases. Players should just ignore the adds that spawn and focus down the 6 Ashtongue Channelers in the middle to start Phase 2 asap. When Phase 2 starts, just practice your rotation on Akama as there are no mechanics in this phase, and then the fight is over.

Phase 1

Separate your tanks on the left and right. The first wave spawns at 12 seconds on the left side with 1 Ashtongue Elementalist, Spirit Binder, and Rogue, along with 1 Ashtongue Defender on the left and an Ashtongue Sorcerer. At 27 seconds into the encounter, the 2nd add wave will spawn on the left.

Three things to get right here:

  • Keep tanks alive as they hold the add waves.
  • Move out of Rain Of Fire casts.
  • DPS down the 6 Ashtongue Channelers ASAP.

Shade of Akama

Phase 2

For Phase two, you will just simply take down any remaining adds as Shade of Akama approaches Akama, and then focus fully on the boss before he kills Akama. Bloodlust here to collect some easy loot!
