The Rogue Phase 4 Best in Slot (BiS) list for Classic Anniversary adds ZG to the loot pool. Mostly a catch-up raid; however, there are a few good items we can get as a Rogue.
Welcome to the Method Rogue Best-in-slot gear guide for Phase 4 of WoW Classic Anniversary. This guide provides an overview of the best items you can acquire during Phase 4.
Phase 4 serves primarily as a catch-up patch for many classes. For Rogue, we are looking at just two major upgrades for Sword Rogue, and one for Dagger Rogue, over what we had for Phase 3. However, this Phase does give us more time to focus on items we have missed, as the patch will likely remain in place for the next two months.
The list below will feature the absolute best if you plan to do all forms of PvE content.
Note: We have included Rank 14 weapons in our notes due to them being BiS. However, we want to focus on pure PvE drops. There are no crafted items in the list, so Rank 14 might be a fair goal.
Rogue Phase 4 Best-in-slot
Pro Tip: Depending on if you plan to play Sword or Dagger, pay attention to the below build for some notes.
Bonus: 2 Set: +8 All Resistances and 4 Set: Chance on melee attack to restore 35 energy - this 4 set bonus is key to this build. Below we will pick the four most ideal items, but you can, in theory, get any four.
Notes:
- Nightslayer Shoulder Pads & Darkmantle Boots are a better Shoulder and Boot combo for Sword Rogue
- Darkmantle Bracers are a stat loss over Bloodfang Bracers, but we need to go for them due to the set bonus
- Aged Core Leather Gloves are the BiS for Dagger, while Darkmantle Gloves are best for Sword - get Nightslayer Gloves / Doomhide Gauntlets otherwise
- Darkmantle Boots are BiS for Dagger or Boots of the Shadow Flame are BiS for Sword
- For Dagger Rogue Grand Marshal's Dirk / High Warlord's Razor from Rank 14 are the BiS main hand
- For Sword Rogue Grand Marshal's Longsword / High Warlord's Blade from Rank 14 are the BiS main hand
- If you can't get Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, then go for Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight in BWL

Best Talent Build for Rogue in Phase 4
For Rogue, there are a few options due to the use of both Sword and Rogue builds. Starting with Sword, we have a standard build and then the Expose Armor build.
Standard Sword Build
Expose Armor Build
Second, we have the Dagger build, with just the one real option.
Best Rogue Consumables for Raiding
When it comes to the best consumables, there are several options that you can use to enhance your damage or survivability during raids. Some of the consumables listed below can be quite expensive, so we’ve provided cheaper alternatives for some, but due to the Black Lotus cost, these are likely to stay expensive.
Best Consumables
Consume Type | Name | Why it's good |
Flask | Flask of the Titans | While really a tank buff, having such a large amount of extra HP is nice. It's worth noting that, due to the economy being a wreck on Classic Fresh, these are probably too expensive to be worth getting. |
Elixir | Elixir of Giants | If you want a cheaper option for a Strength buff, then Elixir of Giants is a good option. |
Elixir | Elixir of the Mongoose | Mongoose is the best option for an Agility buff. However, there is a cheaper option. |
Elixir | Elixir of Greater Agility | Here is the cheaper option for an Agility buff. |
Potion | Mighty Rage Potion | This is like a health potion for DPS, except it makes you angry (gives you more Rage). |
Food | Grilled Squid & Blessed Sunfruit | Two good food options for Rogue. It's worth stocking up on Grilled Squid as it can only be farmed in Winter. |
Rogue Consume | Thistle Tea | An important raid consume for Rogue, a must for boss fights. |
Weapon Buff | Instant Poison VI & Deadly Poison IV | No Sharpening Stones for Rogue, so stick to the poisons. |
Stone | Elemental Sharpening Stone | Use only if the boss is immune to Poison. |
Other Consumes | R.O.I.D.S. | Can be used alongside other Strength buffs; however, it's unique, so use only on major progress. |
Other Consumes | Juju Power | A better version of Elixir of Giants, but harder to obtain. Best used on hard progress or if you want to parse high. |
Other Consumes | Juju Might | A really strong pure Attack Power buff, use Winterfall Firewater as a cheaper alternative, though it has a much lower uptime. |
Other Consumes | Winterfall Firewater | A cheaper, and more short-term version of Juju Might. |
Other Consumes | Free Action Potion | Can be useful for certain fights, worth having in case your raid leader requires you to use them. |
Other Consumes | Restorative Potion | Much like the Free Action Potion, check with your raid leader. |
