Skinning is a Primary Profession in WoW Forever which allows players to gather skins and hides from a variety of mobs. These skins and hides can then be used within crafting professions (such as Leatherworking) or sold on the Auction House.
Skinning is a relatively easy Profession to level, only requiring a Skinning Knife to skin creatures and can be done while leveling your character.
Work In Progress: Right now the guide will show you how to get to 225 Skinning. Post-launch, this guide will be updated with the information you need to get to Skinning Level 300.

Where to Learn Skinning in WoW Forever: Skinning Trainer Locations
Skinning can be taught from various trainers across Azeroth. As you level up your Skinning Profession Skill you will need to be taught the higher levels of Skinning from different Trainers. Starting with Apprentice Skinning. Apprentice Skinning can be taught from trainers found inside most starting zones.
If you don’t want to travel to the trainers you can also learn Skinning from picking the Pelt Collecting For Beginners as a reward from an early quest in the starting areas.
The tables below list the trainers for both Horde and Alliance that teach the Skinning Profession in the starting zones.

Skinning Leveling Route 1-75
Skinning from 1-75 can be done in most starting zones fairly easily. With many of the starting zones having wolves, bears and boars that can be skinned at low levels. We recommend Elwynn Forest for Alliance players, and Durotar for Horde players.
Starting out you will mainly be gaining Ruined Leather Scraps and Light Leather.
Alliance players should start just south of Goldshire focusing on Rockhide Boars, Forest Bears and Prowlers until you hit level 50 in Skinning. Once you hit Level 50 in Skinning head back to Goldshire and learn Journeyman Skinning from Helene Peltskinner.
After you have learnt Journeyman Skinning from Helene Peltskinner, head east towards the Eastvale Logging Camp and continue leveling skinning to level 75.
/way #1429 46.20 62.20 Helene Peltskinner

Once you hit level 75 in Skinning we recommend moving onto a higher level zone as Skinning Points will become more scarce on lower level mobs.
Horde players should start in Durotar, starting in the South and working your way towards the North East of Durotar as you increase your Skinning skill. When you reach Skinning Level 50 you can learn Journeyman Skinning from Thuwd in Orgrimmar.
/way #1454 63.20 45.60 Thuwd
The main mobs you will be skinning are Scorpids, Raptors and Thunderlizards.

Skinning Leveling Route 75-125
Once you hit level 75 in Skinning you should move to another zone to increase your Skinning Skill and gain better materials.
Through Levels 75-125 you will be able to gain a variety of different materials including, Ruined Leather Scraps, Light Leather, Light Hide, Medium Hide and Medium Leather.
Alliance players have a few different zones to pick from depending on how you are playing the game. If you are leveling your character at the same time you can likely continue to whichever zone if up next, but if you are focusing on just leveling Skinning, we recommend Darkshore due to the density of mobs.
When you first enter Darkshore you should focus on skinning Thistle Bears, Forestrider Fledglings and Moonstalkers. All of these mobs can be found around Auberdine.
Once you hit Skinning Level 100 you should focus on the higher level mobs like Monstalker Sire, Foreststrider, Grizzled Thistle Bear, Monstalker Matriarchs and Giant Foreststrider.
After you hit Skinning Level 125 you can learn Expert Skinning from Jayla in Ashernvale.
/way #1440 50.00 67.20 Jayla

For Horde players you should go to The Barrens to continue leveling Skinning. The Barrens have a high density of mobs that can be skinned. Once you have hit Skinning Level 125 you can learn Expert Skinning from Dranh at Camp Taurajo in The Barrens.
/way #1413 45.00 59.00 Dranh
The main mobs you will be Skinning are Plainstriders, Raptors, Giraffes, Prowlers and Hyenas.

Skinning Leveling Route 125-225
Once you hit skinning skill 125 you can learn Expert Skinning and begin to gain better resources from higher level mobs. At this point Skinning Skill levels will become less frequent and you will need to skin multiple mobs to gain skill points.
As you start skinning higher level mobs you will start getting better quality materials like Medium Leather, Medium Hide, Heavy Leather, Heavy Hide, Pristine Hide and Thick Leather.
Due to Skinning points becoming less common we recommend visiting a couple of different zones based on your faction and Skinning skill.
For Alliance players we recommend Skinning in Duskwood until you reach Skinning level 175, then move to Stranglethorn Vale until you reach Skinning level 225.
In Duskwood you will mainly be skinning Wolves and Worgens found across the zone. Once you hit Skinning Skill 175 you should move to Stranglethorn Vale and focus on skinning Panthers, Tigers, Gorillas, River Crocodiles and Raptors.
Once you hit Skinning level 200 you can learn Artisan Skinning from any Skinning trainer in the major cities like Stormwind, Ironforge and Darnassus.

Horde players can continue Skinning in The Barrens, heading further South as your skinning level increases.
In The Barrens you will still be skinning Plainstriders, Raptors, Giraffes, Prowlers and Hyenas. Once you hit Skinning level 175 points will become more infrequent, so we recommend moving to Thousand Needles from 175 onwards.
