Written by Roguery - 5th November 2026

Herbalism in WoW Forever is mostly unchanged from Classic. You will be collecting herbs from around the world. Herbs will always be in high demand as they are mostly used for Alchemists crafting Flasks, Potions and Elixirs, but also used by other crafting professions.

In this Guide we go over where to train Herbalism, why Herbalism is a great profession to have and the best way to level if you are Horde or Alliance.

Herbalism Items & Enchants WoW Forever

There are a few items you can take advantage of in WoW forever to make Herbalism a little easier. These both increase your Herbalism Skill meaning you can pick some herbs a little earlier.

The Herbalist's Gloves can be used from level 22 and onwards and they grant +5 herbalism skill. They are crafted by Leatherworkers and are Bind on Equip meaning you can usually find them on the Auction House.

The second items can be used to enchant these gloves granting either +2 or +5 Herbalism skill Formula: Enchant Gloves - Herbalism and Formula: Enchant Gloves - Advanced Herbalism. You will need an enchanter with the recipe to enchant your gloves.

Finally you have Goldthorn Tea, this is food that increases your Herbalism skill by 15 for 15 mins. This requires cooking to make, you will need 215 Cooking to get his recipe from Razorfen Downs.

Herbalism Camping Benefits in WoW Forever

Herbalist’s will be able to provide the Arcane Intellect buff when at a player camp. This is through either Incense Candle, Greenhouse or Seed Hybridizer. You will also occasionally get seeds which you can plant in either the Greenhouse or Seed Hybridizer. This makes them particularly great for mana based classes.

Leveling Herbalism in WoW Forever

Leveling Herbalism in WoW Forever is no different from any version of World of Warcraft, you will be collecting herbs and will need certain levels to be able to collect herbs. As Horde and Alliance start in very different areas, we have included Horde and Alliance Routes so you can pick whichever one suits you best.

The Alliance Zones are mostly in Eastern Kingdoms and Horde are mostly in Kalimdor, we feel like this will be better for the PvP rule set as a large majority of Horde Zones are in Kalimdor and Alliance are in Eastern Kingdoms.

Leveling Herbalism From 1 - 75

For Alliance leveling Herbalism in WoW Forever from 1 - 75 we recommend farming in Teldarssil. This is because we find it to have a very high density of herbs, that lets you do small laps. You will find Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot along this route, but will be unable to pick the Earthroot until 15.

This route starts at Dolanaar and heads towards Darnassus then heading south to do a loop back to Dolanaar. This makes it particularly useful if you have a bank alt to unload the herbs whenever you head back to Dolanaar.

If Teldrassil is busy we recommend doing bigger laps in the Zone heading north towards the oracle glade and adding that to your route.

For Horde leveling Herbalism in WoW Forever from 1 - 75 we recommend farming in Mulgore. Mulgore has a high density of herbs especially in the north of the zone. You will find Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot along this route, but will be unable to pick the Earthroot until 15.

This route starts a little north of Bloodhoof Village and does a lap around Thunderbluff before returning to Bloodhoof.

If you are finding Mulgore busy and hard to find herbs you can head further south below Bloodhoof Village then east towards the entrance to the barrens and then north to meet with the other route.

Leveling Herbalism From 75 - 115

From 75 - 115 you will mostly be picking Mageroyal, Briarthorn and Stranglekelp. You will also need to train Journeyman Herbalism.

For Alliance we found Loch Modan to be the most dense. You will be unable to collect Stranglekelp until you reach level 85. The Loch Modan route does not bypass a town so your inventory will be limited and you will need to take a detour to drop off any herbs you have collected.

As the loop is quite big we don’t expect you to have issues with it being busy and it's very hard to extend this route. If you are struggling check out our Mageroyal Farming Guide for other routes.

For Horde we found the Barrens to be the best for getting your Herbalism from 75 - 115. This zone is very large and has fairly good density. We recommend farming in the north of the Barrens if you are low level, and the south if you are higher level.

When farming here be aware that there are quite a few hostile enemies in this zone.

Leveling Herbalism From 115 - 170

From 115 to 170 you will be able to pick Bruiseweed, Wild Steelbloom, Stranglekelp, Kingsblood and Liferoot. You will be able to pick most of these, however, you will not be able to pick Kingsblood until 125 or Liferoot until 150.

Make sure at 150 you visit the trainer to learn Expert Herbalism.

As an Alliance our preferred zone is wetlands, you can do a large loop around the zone, starting at Menethil Harbor. You can use the mailbox to drop off any herbs you collect

As Horde we would recommend Hillsbrad Foothills, the zone is fairly large and has a fairly good density of herb nodes. We make sure to pass Tarren Mill so you can mail off any herbs you get making bag space much easier to manage.

Leveling Herbalism From 170 - 205

At level 170 to 205, we recommend both Horde and Alliance to farm in Stranglethron Vale. In this area you will be able to find Kingsblood, Liferoot, Fadeleaf, Goldthorn and once you reach 185 Khadgar's Whisker.

The loop passes by both Grom’Gol base camp and the Alliance camp in the north so you should be able to mail off any herbs that you want while you are there.

Leveling Herbalism From 205 - 230

At this point you can learn Artisan Herbalism as long as you are level 25 or higher. We were unable to reliably test anything on the Beta due to high level enemies, so everything beyond this point is based on speculation.

At 205 for both Horde and Alliance, we recommend farming in Tanaris, we did find the nodes in this to be a little spread out but the zone is quite large and you should not come across much competition. In this Zone you will find Purple Lotus and Firebloom.

Leveling Herbalism From 230 - 270

From 230 to 270 we recommend farming in the Hinterlands as this has the most Sungrass. If the zone is particularly busy, Feralas works as a pretty good alternative. Sungrass, Purple Lotus, Ghost Mushroom and Golden Sansam can be collected in both zones although we found Sungrass to be much easier to collect in the Hinterlands.

Leveling Herbalism From 270 - 300

From 270 to 300 we would recommend farming in Felwood as this is the lowest level zone where max level herbs can spawn. If you are already max level some other zones may be better including Mount Hyjal but we were unable to test this during the beta.

Along this route you will find Sungrass, Gromsblood, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage and Plaguebloom.
