Legacy points are a new form of horizontal progression in World of Warcraft Forever. Completing various Legacy Challenges, which are like Achievements, gives your account Legacy points. You can then spend these points on Legacy talents on each of your characters to gain special perks for leveling, professions, PvP progression, and progression raiding.

Legacy Points and Legacy Talents 101
All characters on your account share the same number of Legacy points. The only exception is Hardcore: Hardcore characters only earn Legacy points from challenges completed on Hardcore, although challenges completed on Hardcore also count for other rulesets.
Each character can spend these Legacy points in their own way: if you have 16 points available and three characters, each can spend those 16 points in a completely different way.
You can reset your Legacy talents by visiting your class trainer at a major city and paying a reset price. In the beta, the reset costs 10 Gold, but the final cost and whether it increases for subsequent resets is not known yet.
Legacy Points Cap in WoW Forever
At launch, you can only spend up to 16 Legacy Points on talents. This cap will increase over time. Earning more than 16 Legacy points will already give you progress on a track that provides cosmetics and even an Epic mount at 55 Legacy points.
A single character can earn up to 29 Legacy Points, but many of these come from late-game activities. It is faster to use multiple characters to earn the points you can spend on Legacy talents.
All Legacy Challenges in WoW Forever
There are currently 65 Legacy challenges in the game. Each challenge awards you one Legacy Point. In the future, there will be Hardcore-only challenges too, but right now, all challenges are shared.

The Fastest Way to Get to 16 Legacy Points In WoW Forever
Because you are initially capped at spending 16 points, that is your first target. By far the easiest path to 16 points is a combination of leveling and professions with a bit of early dungeons and PvP in the mix.
The easiest way to get to 16 Legacy Points is:
- Reach Level 60 (3x Legacy Points)
- Get two alts (of different classes) to level 25 (2x Legacy Points)
- Reach Rank 3 in PVP (1x Legacy Points)
- Get four crafting professions to 225 (8x Legacy Points)
- Complete the Novice Spelunker and Experienced Spelunker Dungeon Achievements (2x Legacy Points)
Getting all of your crafting professions to 225 gives you 12 Legacy points so this is really the heavy hitter early on. This requires a minimum of 3 level 20 characters to get the skill cap. You can then combine these crafting achievements with multiple level 25 characters, PvP ranks (at least rank 3 for one point), and the first step of the dungeon challenges, completing all level 15 to 25 dungeons.
You can add more level 25 characters or gain some more PvP progress to skip some of the professions.
In practice, however, you will often want to level your first character to 60 before working on alts. A somewhat realistic scenario for this is 9 points: 3 from level 60, 2 from a single 225 crafting profession, 2 from PvP rank 7, and 2 for completing all leveling dungeons. A pair of level 25 alts with crafting professions can then finish the journey to 16 total points.
Reaching 16 Legacy Points With A Single Character
The easiest way to get to 16 Legacy Points with a single character is:
- Reach Level 60 (3x Legacy Points)
- Reach Rank 7 in PVP (2x Legacy Points)
- Get two crafting professions to 300 (6x Legacy Points)
- Complete all three Dungeon challenges (3x Legacy Points)
- Complete two Raids OR complete the two Adventure challenges
PVP: If you are a PVP enjoyer then you can get another few points there instead through the higher ranks or rep challenges.
The Fastest Way to Get to 55 Legacy Points in WoW Forever
Another highly interesting perk is the Reins of the Spectral Bear Epic mount at 55 Legacy points. In World of Warcraft Forever, the majority of the riding cost is on the riding skill itself and not the mount, but an Epic mount can still save some Gold. That said, 55 Legacy points is not a fast way to pick up an Epic mount no matter what you do.

With 65 points available, you need all but 10 points. So, which ones can you skip?
- 3 points from raiding are not available at all early on, and may be difficult or easy depending on your playstyle and guild later on
- The Lord Valthalak questline can be very time-consuming for 1 point
- PvP ranks 13 and 14 are long grinds for 2 points
- Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch Exalted reputations are long grinds for 2 points
- Level 60 characters and level 300 professions are also fairly major efforts, but as they give a total of 45 points (of which 30 points for level 45 characters and level 225 professions and 15 points for the last steps), you will need multiple of them no matter what
In short, getting 55 Legacy points will take several hundred hours of gameplay already based on all the level 60 alts you need to level up. You can skip some of the most difficult tasks, but all that leveling alone means that many players will not reach that point total until more challenges are added.
