Is Beast Mastery Hunter Good?

Beast Mastery is still one of the best leveling specs, allowing you to play an easy to learn specialization with your pets dealing a lot of damage. But, at max level, Beast Mastery falls off pretty hard in the first tier. It gets a lot better in later patches like SoO, but for the first few months you might be lower on the damage meters than the other specs available to Hunter, and other specs in the game.

Best Talents & Glyphs for Beast Mastery Hunter in MoP Classic

As for a lot of classes with the new revamped talent system, you can pretty easily set up 2 talent builds: one for Single Target, usually more for Raids, and AoE, more for Dungeons and Challenge mode.

Beast Mastery Hunter Raiding Talent Build

This is your standard BM Hunter Raiding Talent Build for single target. Most of the choices can be swapped around depending on the fights and the utility requirements, so here’s a quick explanation on how each talent can be changed.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Chimera increases your mobility but if you are at risk of being snared, slowed, or need a better instant burst of speed, Posthaste is a better choice. Binding shot is just great all around, Aspect of the Iron Hawk gives an incredible 10% DR but if you need the burst healing you can pick Exhilaration.

Dire Beast is the best single target choice but if there is a lot of cleave involved, you can take Thrill of the hunt.

And finally, swap Glaive Toss for Barrage in fights with a lot of adds.
