What’s New for Fury Warrior in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Mists of Pandaria brings a lot of changes to classes, not only with the new and improved talent tree but also with core changes to how classes work. This extension could be seen as the first step into “modern” World of Warcraft. But how are these changes impacting the Warrior class and the Fury specialization:
- Recklessness doesn’t increase the damage you take anymore.
- Rend is replaced by Deep Wounds.
- Stance dance to DPS is over.
- Slam is exclusive to Arms.
- We don’t use Ranged Weapons anymore.
- Berserker rage is a better offensive spell.
- Battle Shout has been modified and is slightly worse, but still good rage generation.
- We have a new mechanic called Banners. We have 3 War banners, and can place one out of 3 on the battlefield: Demoralizing Banner, Mocking Banner and Skull Banner.
- And with all that, new glyphs and other talents, but we will talk about that in a later section.
Is Fury Warrior Good?
The short answer is yes. Fury scales extremely well, being one of the best DPS in Siege of Orgrimmar and still being fine early on, with one of the best utility packages someone can offer with AoE Kicks, War banners, a lot of CC options, mobility and help with survivability. At least a few warriors will be played in every raid, even though some tiers you might be bested by Warlocks purely DPS-wise.
Regarding class design, Mists of Pandaria is an all-time high for warriors, this iteration being one of the best if not the best. If you are a Warrior main from Retail or Classic, you have to play Warrior in MoP. And if you want to discover the class, this is the best expansion to do so.
Best Talents & Glyphs for Fury Warrior in MoP Classic
Regarding talents, the revamped talent tree is special and can be confusing for people not used to it. In PvE, Fury Warriors have 2 strong option for single target and AoE, and we will go through both in this guide.
But don’t forget, each talent row serves a different purpose, and not every one is tailored toward damage, so options will vary depending on the fights and the utility you should bring.
Fury Warrior Raiding Talent Build
If you want a raiding or a Single Target talent build this should be the default set up. Later down the line you could swap Dragon Roar for Bladestorm even in Single Target while using a cancel aura macro, but we don’t recommend that for the early tiers. Double time and Juggernaut can be swapped if you don’t need the extra charge from Double time. Enraged Regeneration and Second Wind can both see play depending on the fight. Disrupting shout and Piercing Howl are both good choices depending on the CC requirements of the fight. Vigilance is too strong of a choice to ignore.
For the last line, Stormbolt is the best option available, however, your target needs to be immune to crowd control. If your target can be Crowd Controlled, Bloodbath is a better option.
Best Fury Warrior Raid Glyphs
Regarding Major Glyphs, you will want to obtain Glyph of Unending Rage, Glyph of Colossus Smash and Glyph of Bull Rush.
Other options are Glyph of Raging wind for Multi-target, Glyph of Rude Interruption in fights with kicks, Glyph of Death from above for mobility (Glyph of Enraged Speed can also be taken for mobility purposes).
The only Minor Glyph worth taking above all else is Glyph of the Subtle Defender to use Defensive Stance without taking aggro.
Fury Warrior Dungeons & Challenge Mode Talent Build
In the Dungeon Talent Build, we want to play with a rather similar talent tree to raiding. You can change the utility choices in the same way you would do in the raid build. Regarding the throughput talents, the synergy between Bladestorm and Bloodbath is amazing and will shred through packs.
Best Fury Warrior Dungeon Glyphs
Regarding Major Glyphs, we want around the same as raiding but Glyph of Raging wind is a must-have, and after that Glyph of Bull Rush and Glyph of Unending Rage.
Other options are Glyph of Rude Interruption in fights with kicks, Glyph of Death from above for mobility (Glyph of Enraged Speed can also be taken for mobility purpose) or Glyph of Die by the Sword for more defensives.
Rotation for Fury Warrior in MoP Classic
Single Target Rotation & Priority
Fury Warriors have to consider a few parameters when DPSing, the main two being: Is Colossus Smash up on my target and is my target in Execute Range (below 20% HP)? The idea of the rotation is to have rage and resources and spend them all during Colossus Smash.
When the target is above 20% (no execute):
- Use Recklessness on cooldown.
- Use Skull Banner on cooldown.
- Use Dragon Roar on cooldown.
- Use Colossus Smash on cooldown.
- Use Storm Bolt on cooldown, but only if Colossus Smash is up on your target.
- Use Berserker Rage on cooldown if you aren’t enraged.
- Use Heroic Strike with 100+ rage.
- Use Raging Blow if you have 2 charges.
- Use Bloodthirst on cooldown.
- Spend Bloodsurge on Wild strike.
- Use Raging Blow.
- Use Wild strike.
- Generate Rage with Battle shout or Commanding shout.
During Colossus Smash, use Raging blow as much as possible, it takes priority in all situations over Bloodthirst. Spam Heroic Strike, without getting too low on rage. Then follow the classic priority.
When the target is below 20% (execute), outside Colossus Smash you just execute as soon as you can when you have more than 100 rage, in Colossus Smash it takes priority over Wild Strike.
AoE Rotation & Priority
- Use Recklessness on cooldown.
- Use Skull Banner on cooldown.
- Use Bloodbath on cooldown.
- Use Bladestorm on cooldown.
- Stay Enraged with Berserker Rage and Bloodthirst.
- Use Whirlwind 2 (3 Target) to 3 (4+ targets) times before each Raging blow. Keep this cadence up as much as possible.
- If you don’t have a Raging Blow charge, just Whirlwind.
Regarding Openers, you want to prepare a few cooldowns before starting the fight: Battle shout, Shattering Throw, Charge, Bloodthirst and then the usual cooldown usage.
Best Gear & Stats for Fury Warrior in MoP Classic
Best in Slot aren’t as big in Mists of Pandaria Classic. Reforging is the new hype, so you can tailor your gear better than before.
The gear you should aim for are: Trinkets, Tier Sets and Weapons.
The best weapons you can find pre-raid in the first phase are, for One-Handed Weapons:
- Inelava, Spirit of Inebriation, from Stormstout Brewery, Yan-Zhu the Uncasked
- Masterwork Phantasmal Hammer from Blacksmithing.
For Two-Handed Weapons:
- Mogu'Dar, Blade of the Thousand Slaves, Xin the Weaponmaster, Mogu'Shan Palace.
- Masterwork Spiritblade Decimator, Blacksmithing.
The best trinkets for Fury Warrior are:
- Relic of Xuen from Inscription.
- Lessons of the Darkmaster from Scholomance, Darkmaster Gandling.
- Mogu Rune of Paralysis, Justice points.

MoP Fury Warrior Stat Priority
Reach your Hit and Expertise cap, so around 7.5% for both. Then, strength is your best stat. As soon as a gear piece gives you more strength, it’s a good idea to equip it.
After that, it goes: Critical Strike, Mastery and Haste in that order. You can then try and reach a Hit Rating of 26.5% to be 100% sure that your off-hander will hit 100% of the time, but it’s often less valuable than more secondary stats.
