Welcome to our Mists of Pandaria Classic (MoP Classic) Feral Druid Class Guide for Phase 1, it focuses on getting you up to speed with the Spec for PvE content, Dungeons and Raiding. The guide includes key information for what has changed going into MoP, the best Talent builds, Major Glyphs, your Rotation, Gearing and Consumables for Feral Druid.

Table of Content:

What’s New for Feral Druids in Mists of Pandaria Classic

Druid as a class is receiving a lot of changes going from Cataclysm to MoP. For the most part, Feral is the spec that is changing deeply, with now a true separation between Feral DPS and Feral tank, now called Guardian. Despite this big changes to the spec, the base rotation should stay relatively close, with the return of Omen of Clarity and better throughput as the spec isn’t balanced as the “perfect off-tank” anymore but as a true DPS. Here are some important changes:

  • Spells like Dash and Stampeding Roar now activate the desired form automatically, without macros.
  • Sunfire isn’t replacing Moonfire anymore, and is a separate DoT.
  • Insect Swarm has been deleted.
  • Might of Ursoc is a new defensive cooldown.
  • Symbiosis, one of the only MoP exclusive spells (it will be deleted in WoD), gives a copy of one of your spells to a friendly target while copying one of their spells.

Is Feral Druid Good?

Druid is a good class to pick. Feral and Balance are both viable DPS options, but Mist of Pandaria is one of the few expansions where Feral actually has a throughput advantage on Balance. With the distinction between Feral and Guardian being made clearer, Blizzard can now design this spec as a true DPS and can stop worrying about Feral Tank damage.

Best Talents & Glyphs for Feral Druid in MoP Classic

With the new revamped talents, we will provide you with 2 talent builds, one for Dungeons and one for Raiding. Don’t forget that, with the new talents, a lot of utility options can change depending on fights, so you can adjust your choices for the specific encounter or Dungeon you are doing.

Feral Druid Raiding Talent Build

In this Raid Talent Build, you will find everything you need for your average raid encounter. Druids have an incredible number of utility choices, and you can swap around a lot of talents depending on the specific needs of each encounter. Feline Swiftness and Displacer Beast are both good choices, the last one providing more speed but less often. Tyhpoon, Mass Entanglement and Faerie Swarm can be changed depending on your need, same as Mighty Bash, Disorienting Roar and Ursol’s Vortex.

When it comes to the DPS choices however, they are pretty much locked in. Dream of Cenarius and Soul of the Forest are the best options you have.

Best Feral Druid Raid Glyphs

Regarding Major Glyphs, you will want to obtain Glyph of Stampeding Roar, Glyph of Savagery and Glyph of Cat Form. Glyph of Rebirth is also a good option.

Minor Glyphs for Feral Druids are all pretty bad, so just take the ones you like the most.

Feral Druid Dungeons & Challenge Mode Talent Build

The Feral Druid Dungeon Talent Build is very similar to the raiding talent build. And the same logic applies to every choice here. Change your talents if the dungeon has different movement, healing or crowd control requirements.

Best Feral Druid Dungeon Glyphs

Regarding Major Glyphs, you will want to obtain Glyph of Stampede, Glyph of Stampeding Roar and Glyph of Rebirth. Other choices include Glyph of Dash and Glyph of Savagery.

Minor Glyphs for Feral Druids are all pretty bad, so just take the ones you like the most.

Rotation for Feral Druid in MoP Classic

Feral Druids use Combo points and Energy, like Rogues!

Single Target Rotation & Priority

  1. Maintain Faerie Fire.
  2. Maintain Savage Roar with 5 combo points.
  3. Maintain Rip with 5 combo points.
  4. Maintain Rake.
  5. Use Berserk on Cooldown.
  6. Use Tiger’s Fury on Cooldown with less than 35 energy.
  7. Use every Predatory Swiftness proc on Healing Touch.
  8. Use Shred with Omen of Clarity.
  9. Cast Ferocious Bite at 5 Combo points.
  10. Maintain Thrash. You can use Omen of Clarity to free cast Thrash when there is less than 3 seconds remaining on Thrash. Generally, having 100% uptime on Thrash isn’t important enough to delay the earliest steps if you don’t have Omen of Clarity to save energy.
  11. Cast Shred as a filler during Berserk. Outside of Berserker, cast Mangle.

Regarding the opener, you want to Healing touch before the pull to get Dream of Cenarius rolling, then go into stealth with Prowl. Cast Savage Roar, Ravage, Faerie Fire, get to 5 combo points with Rake, cast Tiger’s Fury & Berserk, snapshot Savage Roar, use Shred to get back to 5 combo points, when you have a Predatory Swiftness proc use Healing touch, apply Rip and Rake if it’s running out, Thrash and then the normal rotation.

AoE Rotation & Priority

In heavy AoE, you want to simply maintain Savage Roar, Thrash and spam Swipe while using your offensive cooldowns on cooldown. With only one or two extra targets, you want to maintain Rake and Rip on all your targets.
