Table of Content:
What’s New for Enhancement Shamans in Mists of Pandaria Classic
Mists of Pandaria as an expansion is the first step in the age of modernity for WoW, and with that, a lot of classes get changed. One of the things that are targeted by MoP is what we could call roleplaying mechanics: mechanics that make sense in the world, like carrying your totems in your bags but that are a pain gameplay wise. In MoP Totems are completely revamped, and other things are changing. Here are the highlights:
- You can move while casting Lightning bolt.
- Ghost wolf is instant by default.
- Enhance loses Lava Burst.
- Healing Stream totem only heals 1 target.
- Stoneskin totem, Strength of the Earth totem, Mana spring totem, totem of the Tranquil Mind, Elemental Resistance totem, Stoneclaw totem, Flametongue totem, Windfury totem, Wrath of Air totem are removed.
- Healing Tide totem, Stormlash totem, Capacitor totem, are new totems added.
- Ascendance is your new big burst cooldown.
- Unleashed Rage increases party and raid member ranged and attack speed by 10%.
- Burning Wrath increases spell power by 10%.
- Grace of Air increases Mastery.
Is Enhancement Shaman Good?
Oh yes, it’s very good. A Shaman is always welcomed in any group just because of the sheer amount of empowerment you bring to your group. The difference between a shaman and no shaman is very noticeable, so everyone will be looking for at least one. And with Ancestral Guidance, your off healing will be pretty strong.
And even without all this, Enhancement Shamans are dealing a lot of damage in the first phase. It’s a very safe pick.
Best Talents & Glyphs for Enhancement Shaman in MoP Classic
As for a lot of classes with the new revamped talent system, you can pretty easily set up 2 talent builds: one for Single Target, usually more for Raids, and AoE, more for Dungeons and Challenge mode. But with more ways to reset talents and change assignments, you can adapt your build to each situation.
Enhancement Shaman Raiding Talent Build
Enhancement Shamans have a lot of interesting choices in their talent trees. Even if the first row is locked, Astral Shift giving by far the most survivability, you can swap a lot of things around. Windwalk totem is a good default choice, but you should always consider Earthgrab totem if you need AoE crowd control. On the next row, Call of the Elements is fine to reduce the cooldown of your totems, but if you need to move a lot consider Totemic Projection.
Elemental Mastery is better for Single target fights, Echo of the Elements is better when you have to constantly cleave but all three talents are pretty close. Ancestral Guidance is also locked, and in the last row the 3 choices can be played. Unleashed Fury is a bit better sustained Single target, Primal Elementalist gives you more burst. You can play either one.
Best Enhancement Shaman Raid Glyphs
Regarding Glyphs, only Glyph of Lightning Shield is really mandatory. Other glyphs are good but aren’t as strong. Glyph of Fire Nova is always a safe pick, Glyph of Spirit Walk helps you with movement, Glyph of Feral Spirit, Glyph of Flame shock and Healing Storm are good for sustain, and finally Glyph of Chain Lighting for big AoE damage.
Enhancement Shaman Dungeons & Challenge Mode Talent Build
In Dungeon, nothing fundamentally changes. Echo of the Elements can be taken if you want a more streamlined cleave damage profile, but if you only do big pulls, Elemental Mastery will be better. Ancestral Swiftness gives a nice passive stat boost and is also viable.
Best Enhancement Shaman Dungeon Glyphs
Regarding Glyphs, the choices are the same as the raid Build. Check the raid section if you want to know more about glyphs.
Rotation for Enhancement Shaman in MoP Classic
Single Target Rotation & Priority:
- Maintain Lighting Shield.
- Maintain Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon.
- Maintain Flame Shock.
- Use Fire Elemental on Cooldown.
- Use Stormlash Totem on Cooldown.
- Use Feral Spirit on Cooldown.
- Use Elemental Mastery on Cooldown.
- Use Ascendance on Cooldown.
- Maintain Searing Totem (not while Fire Elemental Totem is active, or you will kill it).
- Use Stormstrike / Stormblast during Ascendance.
- Use Lighting Bolt with 5 Maelstrom.
- Use Lava Lash on Cooldown.
- Use Unleash Elements on Cooldown. Apply Flame Shock when Unleash Elements is active.
- Use Flame Shock on Cooldown.
- Use Lighting Bolt with less than 5 stacks of Maelstrom.
Regarding openers, you have a lot of preparation to do as a Enhancement Shaman. Use Spirit Walk to get in melee, use Feral Spirit, Unleash Elements, Flame Shock, Fire Elemental Totem, Ascendance, Stormstrike, and single target rotation.
AoE Rotation & Priority:
The AoE Rotation is pretty much the same, just use Fire Nova as the highest priority, replace Lighting Bolt with Chain Lighting and if there are more than 5 enemies, replace Searing totem with Magma Totem.
Best Gear & Stats for Enhancement Shaman in MoP Classic
Best in Slot (BiS GeaR) aren’t as big in Mists of Pandaria Classic. Reforging is the new hype, so you can tailor your gear better than before.
The gear you should aim for are: trinkets, sets and weapons.

- Ka’eng, Breath of the Shadow, Taran Zhu, Shado-Pan Monastery.
- Amber Sledge of Klaxxi’vess, The Klaxxi, Exalted.
- Ner’onok’s Razork Katar, Wing Leader Ner’onok, Siege of Niuzao Temple.
- Crescent of Ichor, Shao of Violence, Shado-Pan Monastery.
The best pre-raid trinkets are:
- Relic of Xuen if you have Inscription.
- Searing Words, Darkmaster Gandling, Scholomance.
- Quilen Statuette, from Archeology.

MoP Classic Enhancement Shaman Stat Priority
Reach your Hit and Expertise cap, so around 7.5% for both. Then, Agility is your best stat. As soon as a gear piece gives you more Agility, it’s a good idea to equip it.
After that, it goes: Mastery, then Haste, then Critical Strike. But as a Enhancement Shaman, you don’t really hate any statistics. Usually, getting a better item is more valuable than keeping a high mastery but worse item.
