There are two special foods in World of Warcraft Forever that enable you to change your appearance rather dramatically: Savory Deviate Delight turns you into a Human Pirate or Human Ninja and Savory Whimsyfin Delight turns you into an Orc Pirate or Orc Ninja.
Savory Deviate Delight is familiar from other versions of WoW, whereas Savory Whimsyfin Delight is a new addition to WoW Forever.
How Does Savory Deviate & Savory Whimsyfin Delight Work In WoW Forever?
Upon eating the Delight, the transformation into a pirate or ninja will last for 60 minutes. The transformation can be maintained in combat, although it does not persist through death or work while shapeshifted. You will also lose it if you change forms, so Druids, Shamans, and Shadow Priests may struggle to stay in costume.
Whether you become a Ninja or a Pirate is random, but the race is always the same for each food. You can eat another portion to try to get a different appearance.
For The Gnomes: Yes, transforming yourself into a tall Pirate or Ninja fixes your worse line-of-sight.
What Happened To The Ogres & Murlocs!?
Early in the WoW Forever beta, Savory Whimsyfin Delight turned male characters into Murlocs and female characters into Ogres, but this was removed in favor of the Orc Pirate and Ninja models. The developers indicated that the Murloc and Ogre forms were placeholders that were not planned to stay at this time.
How To Get Savory Deviate & Savory Whimsyfin Delight Work In WoW Forever
If you want to cook these fish yourself, there's a couple of steps you'll need to follow. First you'll need to obtain the recipes, then you'll need to go fishing.
Obtaining The Recipes
The recipes are random zone drops: Recipe: Savory Deviate Delight drops from any mob in The Barrens and Recipe: Savory Whimsyfin Delight drops from any mob in Redridge Mountains. The odds are low and you can expect to grind through hundreds of mobs if you want to farm a recipe yourself. The recipes are not Soulbound and can be sold and bought on the Auction House.
Fishing The Delights
The fish needed for cooking with the recipes, Deviate Fish and Whimsyfin, are also zone-specific: You can find schools of Deviate Fish in inland locations in The Barrens. You can also catch it outside of schools in The Barrens and inside Wailing Caverns near the entrance.
You can find schools of Whimsyfin in Redridge Mountains, especially near the Murloc village by the small lake in the east. Whimsyfin does not appear to be available from open water, only from schools.
The fish and the ready food portions are also commonly sold in the Auction House if you don't want to go through the hassle of farming them yourself.
What's the point in these fish you ask? Well eating them will allow you to:
- Look awesome even while in leveling gear
- Hide your true race and armor, at least on first glance
- Get bigger or become smaller: experience the world as a medium-sized race
