World of Warcraft Forever has a unique transmogrification system to change the appearance of your gear. The original vanilla WoW had no transmogs: the system was added to the modern game in Cataclysm, and it has gone through several improvements since.
WoW Forever takes many of the improvements added over time, places some limitations that the current retail system does not have, and adds an opt-out of the entire system for a more original 'vanilla' experience.

How to Enable and Disable Transmog in WoW Forever
You can toggle the transmog system on and off by talking to a Transmogrifier NPC.
Whether you have the system initially on or off depends on your main graphical style choice when you first launched the game: if you go for the old-school Classic feel, transmog will be turned off by default. Regardless of your initial choice, you can always toggle the system on or off at a Transmogrifier NPC.
Note: Even if you have disabled transmog, you can still set up outfits for your own character and you will still see your own transmogs. You will also keep collecting appearances as you loot items. Other players will appear with the gear that they are actually wearing.
If other players have transmogs enabled, they will also see you in the transmog gear you have selected for yourself. If you do not set up a transmog, you will appear with the gear you have equipped.
Where Are the Transmogrifier NPCs in WoW Forever
Currently, there are only three Transmogrifiers in Azeroth: one for the Horde and two for the Alliance.
The Horde Transmogrifier, Mon’ye, is in the Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar.

The main Alliance Transmogrifier, Fyrenz Vishonar, is in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind.

The other Alliance Transmogrifier, Spellweaver Thaldris, is in the Talismanic Textiles shop in Dalaran.

How Can You Collect Appearances for Transmog in WoW Forever
WoW Forever has a flexible appearance collection system that removes most incentives to ninja loot for cosmetic reasons.
All appearances are account-wide collections. While there are restrictions on what transmogs each character can use based on armor type (you can only transmog the same armor type), character level (you cannot transmog into higher-level gear), and character class (some items are class-specific), once you collect an appearance on any of your characters, you can use it on any eligible character across the account.
Poor (grey) and Common (white) items are unlocked as appearances as soon as you loot them. You can give them to another player, you get to keep the appearance, and they also get the appearance.
Bind-on-Equip (BoE) items of any rarity must either be soulbound to your character or sold by you to a vendor to unlock the appearance.
All Quest rewards are always unlocked, even the options you do not choose. There is no need to choose a quest reward based on looks.
Dungeon drop Bind-on-Pickup item appearances are shared. The appearance of any Uncommon (green) or Rare (blue) BoP item that drops in a dungeon is unlocked for the entire party, regardless of who loots the item.
Raid drops and Epics are personal. The only ninja looting risk for appearances is with Epics and Raid BoP items, which are only unlocked for the player who binds them to their character.
Restrictions on Transmogs in WoW Forever
While the appearances are collected account-wide, you cannot use them at all times.
Armor and weapon type must match. Unlike in retail, you can only transmog an item to another item of the same type. The weapon types here are one-handed and two-handed, so you can transmog a sword into an axe, for example. The armor types are cloth, leather, mail, and plate, and you cannot transmog between them.
Level restrictions before reaching level 60. You need to meet the minimum level requirement of the item you are transmogging into. After you reach the level cap, this becomes meaningless.
Class-specific items are class-specific. You cannot get another class’s exclusive appearance even through transmogrification.
How Do Transmog Outfits Work in WoW Forever
Transmogs in WoW Forever are based on outfits, not on individual items. You create an entire look for your character, and even if you change the items you wear, your appearance will stay the same. You can set up outfits at a Transmogrifier for a price and then change between them at any time for free.

Outfit & Armor Types: Note that because you can only transmog within the same armor type, you can set up an appearance for each different armor type that you can wear within the same outfit. So for example, the same outfit could have options saved for cloth, leather and mail.
You also have the option to hide each one of your armor slots individually if you wish to show less clothing.
You start with two outfit slots and can purchase more with Gold, up to 50 outfits. The cost of an outfit slot starts at 10 Silver and increases to up to 100 Gold per slot as you unlock more of them.
The outfit slots you unlock are available account-wide to all of your characters.
Automatically Switch Between Outfits with Situations
WoW Forever also adds a new Situations system to give you some automation into what your character looks like. With Situations, you can choose which one of your outfits is used based on multiple criteria:
- Location
- Unmounted, mounted, swimming
- Weather
- Time of day
If you want to fine-tune your appearance for all circumstances, WoW Forever’s transmog system gives you the most advanced tools available in any version of World of Warcraft.
