Waylaid Crates are items looted from world drops and chests in WoW Forever; they require you to fill them with specific items and materials before turning them in for reputation with the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) and Durotar Supplies and Logistics (Horde) and a new currency, called Merchant's Favor.

This guide explains where you get a Waylaid Crate in WoW Forever, how you fill the crate with the required materials, the locations of the Horde and Alliance NPC that you hand-in the Waylaid Crates to, and the rewards you receive for completing a hand-in.

How to get Waylaid Crates in WoW Forever

Waylaid Crates can be obtained in two ways: from random world drops and chests throughout the world, or on the Auction House; Waylaid Crates are not Bound on Pickup (BoP) when looted.

After picking up a crate, you’ll notice that it will provide multiple options for what can be filled in that crate. These are typically gathering profession items such as ore, bars, herbs or cloth.

Note: To fill a crate you only need to fill it with one type of the listed materials, not all of the different types.

For example, with the Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Herbs you would supply either: 20 Peacebloom, 20 Silverleaf, 10 Earthroot, 10 Mageroyal or 10 Briarthorn. Meaning only 10 Earthroot would fill the Crate and be ready for handing-in.

How to Fill a Waylaid Crate in WoW Forever

To fill a Waylaid Crate you simply need to right click the crate and then left click on the items you want to put into the crate from your bags.

If you don’t have enough to reach one of the requirements to fill the Waylaid Crate, it will partially fill the crate with what you do have and the tooltip should update with the amount that you have in the crate. This will then show you how many more you need to put in before its hit the requirement to be considered completed.

Once you have filled the Waylaid Crate, it is ready to hand-in.

Note: There are different ranks of Waylaid Crates that require different levels of materials: Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Artisan. The higher levels of Waylaid Crates require higher level materials, but do reward you with slightly more Merchant's Favor in return, so you will need to decide if the cost of the materials is worth the reward.

Where to Turn in Waylaid Crates

You can turn in your filled Waylaid Crate to your Faction's respective NPC, Marcy Baker (Alliance) or Dokimi (Horde), located either at the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) or the Durotar Supplies and Logistics (Horde) hubs.

First Hand-in Bonus: Completing your first Waylaid Crate will give you a Shipping Label, starting a one-time quest that awards you 50 Merchant's Favor. This is incredibly helpful for getting access to early crafting patterns as you level.

For the Alliance, the NPC you hand the Waylaid Crates into is Marcy Baker.

Marcy Baker can be found in the Azeroth Commerce Authority hub, which is located in Three Corners in Redridge Mountains.

Waylaid Crate and Merchant's Favor Rewards

There are two primary rewards that you get for handing-in a filled Waylaid Crate: Merchant's Favor (Currency) and Reputation with either Durotar Supplies and Logistics (Horde) or Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance).

The Merchant's Favor currency can be used to purchase profession patterns and recipes for some very strong items, which makes Waylaid Crates an important part of unlocking them.

It's also worth noting that for some of the rewards available from Merchant's Favor, you will need to have unlocked higher levels of reputation with either the Durotar Supplies and Logistics (Horde) or Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance). Since Waylaid Crates are a source for both the currency and reputation you need, they are definitely worth doing if you want any of the unlocks.
