All characters can start their questing journey from any starting zone of their faction. Just run there and pick up the first quest. This way, you can all start together at level 1. Travel time depends on the exact combination, and generally ranges between 10 and 25 minutes.
In this guide we break down the best starting zones for both factions, and explain how you can get to any starting zone in WoW Forever, as any race, from level 1.

What's The Best Starting Zone In WoW Forever?
First of all, let's look at where all of the starting zones are for both Alliance and Horde.
The Alliance starting zones are predominantly located on the Eastern Kingdoms.

The Alliance starting zones by race are:
- Dwarf: Dun Morogh
- Gnome: Dun Morogh
- Human: Elwynn Forest
- Night Elf: Teldrassil
- Skyborne: Zephras Isle
The Horde starting zones are predominantly located on Kalimdor.

The Horde starting zones by race are:
- Orc: Durotar
- Troll: Durotar
- Tauren: Mulgore
- Undead: Tirisfal Glades
- Skyborne: Zephras Isle
What's The Best Starting Zone?
I would avoid traveling to Zephras Isle as other races, because there are many hostile mobs on the way that the Skyborne can avoid when coming the other way. Even that is doable though, I ran all the combinations in beta, but getting to Zephras Isle is the one where I died a couple of times.
The Tauren starting zone in Mulgore is also a bit far away, and it is much faster for the Tauren to join the other Horde races than Orcs, Trolls, or Undead to travel to Mulgore. It is still easier for Skyborne to travel to Mulgore though.
For some classes, it can be important to stay in your own starting zone in the beginning. In particular, almost all Horde Paladin trainers are in the Undead zones, and Undead Paladins also have all their early class quests only there. The same applies to Dwarf Paladins on the Alliance side, who prefer to start out in Dun Morogh.
