How Herb Seeds Work In WoW Forever: Herbalism Greenhouse & Seed Hybridizer

Written by Geekmandem - 28th October 2026

In WoW Forever, Herbalism is getting a new mechanic in the form of Seeds. If you farmed at Sunsong Ranch in Mists of Pandaria (or more recently in MoP Classic), you’ll get the idea. It’s a much smaller system here, and it runs through Forever’s camping feature.

So how does it all work? Let's dig in.

What Do Herb Seeds Do In WoW Forever?

Herb Seeds are a bonus drop from herb nodes. There are four tiers: Commonplace, Uncommon, Unusual and Scarce and on their own, they do absolutely nothing. The tooltip just tells you to plant it in a Greenhouse and let it grow, so until you've got one, they're dead weight. More on the Greenhouse shortly.

What they do is simple really, they grow into herbs. You plant them in your greenhouse and then you can collect the herbs that grow within them after a while.

No More Mulch: Herb Seeds fit in herb bags which can be placed in the new Reagent slot, so they won’t clog up your main bags.

How To Get The Greenhouse In WoW Forever

The Greenhouse is Herbalism's Tier 2 camp object, sitting between the Incense Candle (skill 20) and the Seed Hybridizer (skill 300). Your trainer won't teach it. You need Blueprint: Greenhouse, which drops from Shadetooth in the new Excavation Site: Wetlands dungeon.

Sadly, the drop rate is not great, coming in at around 8% on the Beta, which we really hope gets changed by live release.

Once you've learned it at 140 Skill, each Greenhouse costs:

The strange part is that you only need 140 Skill to learn the recipe, but Purple Lotus needs 210, and Arthas' Tears needs 220. That’s Ashenvale and Stranglethorn for the Lotus, Western Plaguelands and Felwood for the Tears.

How to Plant Seeds in the Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is a camp object for Herbalists that uses Herb Seeds.

  1. Get a campfire going. The Greenhouse needs one nearby, and it can be yours or anyone else's.
  2. Place the Greenhouse from your bags.
  3. A planter box will spawn; use a seed on the box to plant it.
  4. Wait for a few minutes (exact time to be confirmed post-launch).
  5. Once the seed is done, click the herb node to pick it.

The Greenhouse lasts for 15 minutes.

Which Herbs Drop Seeds and What Do They Grow Into?

Herb Seeds start dropping from skill 1 herbs, so you'll be hoarding them long before you can actually use them.

It's not currently clear what herbs you can get from each seed yet because there was issues with the system on the beta. We'll update this section when we know.

Is the Greenhouse Worth It?

The maths is pretty brutal based on the beta when it comes to the worth of Herb Seeds but it all comes down to how these systems end up actually working on the live servers.

When it comes down to what seeds to actually use, at this point in time it looks like you might want to wait until the later seeds.

Tip: Save all the Herb Seeds you find, even if you leave them in the bank. They may come in handy once you make the Seed Hybridizer.

What Does the Seed Hybridizer Do?

The Seed Hybridizer is Herbalism's tier 3 camp object, unlocked at 300 skill, and it's what gives all those low-tier seeds a purpose. Feed it seeds of the same tier, and it either multiplies them or combines them into a rarer tier. That stack of Commonplace seeds you've been carting around since your starting zone finally has somewhere to go.

A look at the three Campsite Objects for Herbalism. Note the Incense Candle Intellect buff scales with level from +2 at level 1 to +25 at level 60.

It costs 4 Mountain Silversage, 1 Crystal Vial and 2 Runecloth, and like the Greenhouse, it keeps the Incense Candle buff.

What we don't know yet is where Blueprint: Seed Hybridizer drops, or how often it upgrades rather than multiplies. Nobody in the beta has found the blueprint, so this one's a launch-day discovery.
