WoW Forever's new lighting engine has brought some big changes to way you experience Azeroth, with some areas plunged into atmospheric darkness. Thankfully, Blizzard has added the Night Watchman's Torch to the game which you can use (on a cooldown) to help illuminate the way.
As you adventure in the world, you'll start to notice some of the dark zones really come to life. Duskwood is one of the first for Alliance players, but Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine on Horde are also good examples. Enter Stranglethorn Vale during the early hours and the entire forest floor becomes a haunting black. Enemies in the trees become just glowing eyes, making those Booty Bay runs nightmare fuel.
To obtain your Night Watchman's Torch, you must first get it by tracking down a dead Night Watch Guard in Duskwood. He only shows up at night however, and he doesn't always turn up in the same spot.
Note: If you delete your Night Watchman's Torch, you can head back to Duskwood to claim another one.

What Does The Night Watchman's Torch Do in WoW Forever?
The Torch does... torch things. Place the item on your action bar, and you can spark up a light source for 5 minutes. The Torch has a 30-second cooldown and will be put out the second you take any sort of combat action. The item is unique, so you can only carry one, but if you lose it, you can just get a new one.
The torch also acts mostly as you'd expect. Walk into the water, and it goes out. It also goes out inside major cities.
How To Get A Torch In WoW Forever
The Night Watchman's Torch is found in Duskwood in the Eastern Kingdoms. You have to find a dead Night Watch Guard and the item spawns as a yellow "!" quest over the body which you can immediately complete. Multiple players can complete the quest.
Once you have the Torch, you will no longer see the quest but you can still see the Night Watch Guard in the world.
Night: As of right now it appears that the Night Watch Guard only spawns at 'night', so we'd recommend waiting until at least 20:00 game time before you go looking.
Night Watch Guard Spawn Location
There is no fixed location for the Night Watch Guard, and players have reported finding him all around the south and west of Duskwood.
The location where we first found it (and have been able to replicate) was in Raven Hill. This location is shown below with coordinates.

We have found the Night Watch Guard at the Raven Hill Location at least three times on two different characters. That being said, he can also be found at other locations.

Getting to Duskwood As Horde
Horde players can also claim the torch, but it's a bit harder for them to get to Duskwood.
To get there as a Horde player, take the Zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Grom'gol in Stranglethorn Vale and then head north into Duskwood.
