In WoW Forever, little is more satisfying than filling an empty bag slot with a bag, expanding your inventory and allowing you to collect more loot as you level.
Filling out those slots with 6, 8 or 10 slot bags in the early game makes life much easier, and in this guide we'll show you how to go about doing that. From early bag drops, to vendor bags, quest bags and crafted bags, this guide will cover the lot.

WoW Forever Reagent Bag Slot
There's a big improvement to the way bags and inventory is handled in WoW Forever, the introduction of a Reagent Bag slot. This is a dedicated slot in addition to the four bag slots for holding reagents, separate from your primary inventory.
There are also now dedicated Reagent Bags in the game which can only fit into that slot and which can be crafted by both Tailors and Leatherworkers.
A couple of class-specific notes on the Reagent Bag that you might be wondering about:
- Warlocks can place their soul shard bag in the Regeant Bag slot.
- Hunters unfortunately cannot place their quiver in the Reagent Bag slot.
How To Get Your First Bags In WoW Forever
Looting Bags
The first bag you loot will be one of five small 6-slot pouches like Small Red Pouch (Blue, Brown, Black or Green), and every mob in the starting zones can drop one.
Grinding for them isn't worth it, but you're going to be killing these mobs anyway so if you're lucky you'll find one! The loot chance of these 6-slot bags are about 0.5-1% per mob.
Guaranteed Bag From Quest
Every race now gets a guaranteed 6-slot bag from a quest in or right next to their starting zone. Some of these quests are chains, but make sure you at least pick up the first quest in the chain, which we highlight for each race below.
Note: This data is from the beta, so early changes on the live game could impact this information.
| Race | Bag Name | Quest | Where to start | Level Required |
| Human | Book Bag | Book Return (end of the Nibbled-On Book chain, elite) | Marshal Dughan, /way Elwynn Forest 42.2 65.8 (The first quest will drop from Kobalds) | 1 |

Filling Out Your Bag Slots In WoW Forever
Once we leave the safety of our starting area, the world opens up and one of our first tasks will be to fill out our bag slots. The easiest way to do this is to purchase them (from Vendors, or the Auction House) or craft them.
Where to Buy Early Bags from Vendors
Once you arrive at the first town after the starting area, you will be able to purchase bags to fill out your slots. These start off very cheap but move up in price quickly; it's well worth buying the 6-slot bags if you don't have a profession that can craft them.
| Bag | Slots | Cost | Vendor |
| Small Brown Pouch | 6-slot | 5 Silver | General Goods and Supplies |
| Brown Leather Satchel | 8-slot | 25 Silver | General Goods and Supplies |
| Heavy Brown Bag | 10-slot | 2 Gold | General Goods & Bag Vendors |
| Huge Brown Sack | 12-slot | 10 Gold | Bag Vendors |
Note: Faction discounts will apply to these bags.
The strategy here is to make sure to buy all 6-slot bags first; do not start your level 6+ journey without full bags. If you have enough money, just buy the 8-slot bags from the off; they will quickly earn their value if you have to start destroying items.
And remember, make sure your Reagent Bag is in the new slot. These bags start at 4 slots, but they are invaluable for saving bag space, especially if you have a gathering profession.
Crafting Early Bags In WoW Forever
For those who pick up Tailoring, the world is your oyster. Not only can you craft bags for yourself as you level, but you can also make a killing selling bags to players.
A huge change is that the crafted Red Linen Bag is now 8-slot, so this becomes a huge item to target. See the tables below for more details.

| Bag | Size | Source |
| Linen Reagent Bag | 6-slot (R) | Tailoring Supplies Vendor |
| Linen Bag | 6-slot | Trainer (45 Skill) |
| Red Linen Bag | 8-slot | Trainer (70 Skill) |
The Linen Reagent Bag is the first bag any Tailor can make, from Tailoring 5. It's a 6-slot reagent bag made from 6 Bolts of Linen Cloth and 6 Coarse Thread, and the pattern costs about 1s 50c from Tailoring Supplies vendors.
At 45, you get the trainer's Linen Bag, which is a standard 6-slot bag for 3 Bolts of Linen Cloth and 3 Coarse Thread. The big one is the Red Linen Bag at 70. It's now 8 slots, for 4 Bolts of Linen Cloth, 1 Fine Thread and 1 Red Dye.
The pattern costs 2s from Gina MacGregor in Westfall, Valdaron in Darkshore, Mahu in Thunder Bluff and Andrew Hilbert in Silverpine. An 8-slot bag from linen is massive for levels 10 to 20, so expect these to fly off the Auction House; this is a great early money maker.
| Bag | Size | Source |
| Woolen Reagent Bag | 8-slot (R) | Tailoring Supplies Vendor (70 Skill) |
| Green Woolen Bag | 8-slot | World Drop (95 Skill) |
| Red Woolen Bag | 8-slot | Tailoring Supplies Vendor (115 Skill) |
At 70 Tailors can also make the Woolen Reagent Bag, which is 8 slots for 3 Bolts of Woolen Cloth, 1 Fine Thread and 1 Cerulean Dye, from a 2s 50c pattern at Tailoring Supplies vendors.
The regular Woolen Bag (80, trainer), Green Woolen Bag (95, world drop pattern) and Red Woolen Bag (115, 5s pattern) are all still 8 slots. Now that Red Linen Bag matches them for cheaper materials, these are mostly for skill-ups.
| Bag | Size | Source |
| Small Silk Pack | 10-slot | Trainer (150 Skill) |
| Green Silk Pack | 10-slot | World Drop (175 Skill) |
| Silk Reagent Bag | 10-slot (R) | Desolace Quartermaster (125 Skill) |
Silk is where 10-slot bags arrive. The Small Silk Pack comes from the trainer at 150, made from 3 Bolts of Silk Cloth, 2 Heavy Leather and 3 Fine Thread, with the Green Silk Pack following at 175.
There's also a new 10-slot Silk Reagent Bag at 125, but its pattern comes from the Gelkis and Magram Clan quartermasters in Desolace, so it's a level 30 job rather than an early-game one.
Leatherworkers get a new 6-slot Light Leather Reagent Bag at Leatherworking 30, made from 8 Light Leather, 1 Cured Light Hide and 3 Coarse Thread. Alliance can buy the pattern from Saenorion in Darnassus for about 1s 50c, and Horde can get it from the Durotar quest Beasts of Thunder Ridge.
Horde Leatherworkers can also learn the 6-slot Kodo Hide Bag at 40 from the Thunder Bluff quest Kodo Hide Bag.
Early Bags From Quests
There are also some notable bags you can get in the world from quests; these are well worth making sure you get.

Poor Old Blanchy is a level 14 Westfall quest you can grab from level 9, from Verna Furlbrow at 60, 19.4 on the road north of Sentinel Hill. Bring her 8 Handfuls of Oats for her horse, and she gives you Old Blanchy's Feed Pouch.
In Classic, this was only a 4-slot bag, but Forever has upgraded it to 8 slots. If you're a Night Elf heading into Darkshore instead, the Buzzbox chain from Auberdine ends with Buzzbox 525, which rewards Wizbang's Gunnysack. That's also been bumped from 6 to 8 slots, and you can start the chain from level 7.

Parts and Pieces is a brand-new level 14 Barrens quest for Horde and Alliance, available from level 9, from Wrenix the Wretched in Ratchet at 63.10 36.4.
Head to the upper pirate camp south of Ratchet and collect 5 Handfuls of Complicated Parts, and Wrenix hands over the Scuffed Shipping Crate, a guaranteed 8-slot bag. Every Horde race passes through the Barrens, so add this to your route. For Alliance, it's a less natural quest to take, but it is here if you want it. Just travel via the Booty Bay route, but that requires you to be close to level 30 due to mob levels.
Deviate Hides in Wailing Caverns (from level 13) and Vyrin’s Revenge in Loch Modan (from level 15, Alliance) both offer a 10-slot bag as one of their reward choices.
Beyond this point, you will be leaving early bags behind and kitting out our bag slots with higher slot crafted bags in most cases.
