Hit Chance is a very Important stat in WoW forever and it is used by almost all classes with the exception of healers as heals can’t miss.
Your Hit Chance has a huge impact on your DPS (for DPS players) and you ability to generate and maintain threat (for Tanks). However, the system is quite complicated, so in this guide we've broken down how it all works.
How Hit Chance Works In WoW Forever
Put simply, your Hit Chance increases the chance that your spells, abilities and auto-attacks will hit the target. You can also think of it another way: your Hit Chance reduces the chance that your spells, abilities and auto-attacks will miss the target.
Your chance to hit depends on your character level and the level of the enemy you are attacking. The higher the level enemy, the higher the chance you will miss an attack.
Don't Miss This: Missed attacks deal 0 damage.
Your chance to miss is also different depending on if you are using an attack or a spell. In WoW Forever Hit Chance was changed to affect everything, so Hit Chance will affect both spells and attacks.
How Hit Chance Works: Spells
Hitting a target the same level as you with a spell requires a 4% Hit Chance to ensure you never miss. This increases if the enemy is a higher level than you. Raid bosses or skull level targets are classed as 3 levels higher than you, so the amount of Hit Chance needed increases to 17%.

How Hit Chance Works: Melee & Ranged Attacks
Melee attacks work a little differently to spells; you will need 5% Hit Chance to not miss a target of the same level as you, or 8% to never miss a raid boss, however, this is not the only factor at play.
Weapon Skill will affect your ability to hit a target. The higher your Weapon Skill the less likely you are to miss. Using a weapon you are unskilled in will result in a lot more misses. You can always check how much more likely you are to miss in the skills tab of your character sheet.

Dual Wielding requires 24% Hit Chance to never miss with both weapons.
Note: We suspect that even with the Hit Chance cap there will still be a 1% chance to miss, as we've seen before, but we are unable to test this currently.
Glancing Blows
Weapon Skill will also affect whether or not you get Glancing Blows. A Glancing Blow deals reduced damage to a target depending on your weapon skill, you can always check your chance to deal a glancing blow and how much less damage it will deal in the skill tab of your character sheet.
Hit Caps in WoW Forever
The table below shows the amount of hit you need for spells and attacks in WoW Forever for your attacks to not miss. This is assuming you have a maxed weapon skill.
| Attack Type | Same Level | Raid Boss |
| Spell | 4% | 17% |
| Attack | 5% | 8% |
| Dual Wield | 24% | 29% |
