Tier Sets
The new set bonuses are passive, have no effect on the rotation whatsoever, and quite frankly, boring. However, this is okay considering that it is the first season of the expansion, which introduces hero talents.
- (2) Set Bonus: Stormstrike, Lava Lash, Ice Strike, and Crash Lightning deal 15% increased damage.
- (4) Set Bonus: Activating Feral Spirits summons 1 extra Feral Spirit.

Trinkets
The dungeon trinket pool in season 1 has a lot of good options, with Skardyn’s Grace and Ara-Kara Sacbrood being the best options. As of 11.0.5 Skardyn’s Grace lines up with Ascendanc, making it even better, after already being the best trinket in the previous patch. Solid alternatives are Empowering Crystal of Anub’ikkaj and Dead-Eye Spyglass.
The raid trinkets from Nerub’ar Palace don’t quite measure up, but are still solid options, with the best among them being Ovi’nax Mercurial Egg and Treacherous Transmitter.
Hand of Justice from the anniversary version of Blackrock Depths is a fantastic trinket, which is easy to get.
Shadowbinding Ritual Knife, Quickwick Candlestick, and Spelunker’s Waning Candle are great options from Delves, but since they are not available in higher item levels they will eventually fall behind.
Embellishments
Right now the only Embellishments of note are the Darkmoon Sigils, which can only be put on weapons. As such, you will want to craft a weapon and put Darkmoon Sigil: Ascendance on it. For your second embellishment craft another low stat budget armor item such as cloak or bracers with Writhing Armor Banding.
