Shadow Priest Gearing Guide

Note: Ideally we use Head, Chest, Gloves and Legs from the new Season 3 tier set. Currently you only swap when you get the new 4-set, and in some instances 2-set specifically for Voidweaver. But sims are trustworthy and should tell you if the item level increase is big enough to swap over earlier. The tier set is also split into 2 different versions depending on your Hero Talents.

Shadow Priest Season 3 Tier Set:

• (2) Set Bonus Voidweaver: Void Blast damage is increased by 30% and Void Blast’s cast time is reduced by 20%. Void Blast’s cooldown is reduced by 50%.
• (2) Set Bonus Archon: Halos generate an additional 10 Insanity over 5 sec and Resonant Energy additionally increases the damage of your Devouring Plague by 5%
• (4) Set Bonus Voidweaver: Void Blast now also causes Entropic Rift to grow, Collapsing Void increases Entropic Rift’s damage by an additional 10%, and the damage of your next Mind Blast is increased by up to 60% based on the size of Entropic Rift when it collapses
• (4) Set Bonus Archon: Devouring Plague adds another Halo to the effect at 100% effectiveness, up to 2 times.

You should still prioritize the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Shadow Priest, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

The below list is meant to give you a goal, not the end all be all. You can tweak various pieces depending on your exact stats or setup. You should always sim yourself on various settings to determine if something is an upgrade rather than blindly following this list.

*NOTE* With the introduction of high item level items, Cyrce’s Circlet will no longer be BiS. I have added 3 good options for the 2nd ring slot, but there are plenty others that might sim slightly higher depending on your gear or stats. You have a few options at ~684 to replace it.

Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension + Writhing Armor Banding

Generally the best choice in all content. Craft the Ascension on a weapon (pref Staff, unless you already have a Mythic 1H, and then craft the Armor Banding on Wrist/Cloak/Belt etc.

2x Duskthread or Dawnthread Lining

Can be better in some scenarios, like M+, where you have a lot of downtime between pulls so your Ascension stacks start to drop.

Reshii Wraps

Reshii Wraps is a new Cloak released in Patch 11.2 and will be the only cloak you use (and the only one that can drop from any content in Season 3). You gain access to it via a quest chain and completing chapter 3 of the main patch storyline.

The Reshii Wraps are upgradable via Ethereal Strands and can have secondary stats of your choice added to it.

To add a secondary stat to the Reshii Wraps you use a Fiber in the Fiber Socket of the Cloak. The highest quality version of the Fibers requires a work-order to a Tailor.

When picking a Fiber, I strongly recommend simming your character for the best stat for your current gear and intended content. If you just want a quick recommendation for which Reshii Fiber to use, then use Pure Energizing Fiber (Mastery).

Best D.I.S.C Belt & Miniature Titan Disc Effects

• Best Single Target: Electric Current (VW) or Critical Chain (Archon)
• Best Burst AoE: Electric Current
• For Dungeons you can use either of the above.

Overall the belt has much less value now, even at 701 ilvl. It’s very possible that until the belt is upgraded it might not be worth to use it.

11.2 notes: Drop D.I.S.C Belt when you get a normal belt around 710-714 item level
