Shield Rune: Ground Fissure
The Shield Saw can be further upgraded with the help of Runes found in the later chapters of the game. These Runes enhance your shield by giving different kinds of damage bonuses to your parries.

Upgrades
TIER 1: Aftershock: Increases the distance the shockwave travels, allowing it to hit more demons across a wider area. Helps with clearing out distant fodder or setting up follow-up attacks.
TIER 2: Wavefront: Adds a scorch effect to the wave, causing demons it hits to drop armor shards. Great for keeping your defenses up in longer fights where armor runs low.
TIER 3: Megathrust: Boosts both the size and damage of the wave, making it hit harder and cover more space. Turns the rune into a much better crowd-clearing tool.

Ground Fissure Rune
Triggers a shockwave from your shield when you parry a Hell Surge attack. The wave travels in a straight line, lightly damaging and staggering the demons it hits. It’s a balanced rune—bit of damage, some crowd control, and it can help keep your resources up. As the first rune you unlock, it’s a solid pick early on and worth experimenting with.
