What is the Trading Post?
The trading post is a brand new evergreen feature coming in Dragonflight patch 10.0.5, and it promises to add a whole new level of excitement to the game. The trading post will be available on the 1st of February 2023 and it will allow you to complete monthly activities and earn a new account-wide currency called Trader’s Tender. Once you have earned enough Trader’s Tender, you can purchase various items, including transmog, pets, and mounts.
The great thing is that the trading post becomes accessible to characters starting at level 10, meaning you don't need a character at the maximum level to enjoy this new feature.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Trading Post is that the trader's inventory updates every month. The items available are not limited by the current game content, and you can expect to see new and exciting items every month. This ensures that players will always have something new to look forward to.
If you don't manage to get an item you want, you don't have to worry because it will eventually rotate back again.
Trading Post Locations
A new set of traders have set up shop in the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar, offering players a new and exciting way to acquire items. The T&W (Tawny and Wilder) and Zen'shiri Trading Posts are now open for business, with the T&W Trading post located just outside of the Mage District in Stormwind and the Zen'shiri Trading Post situated next to Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar.
The traders have made sure that their items are prominently displayed, making it easy for players to see what's new for the month. They'll have transmog items on mannequins, pets at their feet, and mounts secured in their stable, making it easy for players to find the perfect item that suits their needs.
To see this month's offerings, all you need to do is speak to the traders, and they will be more than happy to show you the current selection of available items. Whether you're searching for a new transmog item, a loyal pet companion, or a mount that can take you on exciting adventures, the T&W and Zen'shiri Trading Posts have something for everyone.
Trading Post Currency (Trader’s Tender)
In order to acquire items from the trading post, you will first need to earn a new account-wide currency called "Trader’s Tender".
Players can obtain Trader's Tender in the following ways:
- By having the Dragonflight expansion available on your account, you will have an achievement called Trading Post: Dragonflight. Only awarded once per account.
- For completing the Trading Post introduction quest called Tour the Trading Post. Only awarded once per account.
- Automatically each month: By simply logging in and visiting the Trading Post, players can collect 500 Trader’s Tender from a chest called the Collector's Cache.
- By completing monthly activities in the Traveler's Log: A set of monthly activities provides the opportunity to earn an additional 500 Trader’s Tender.
Note: The months following unlocking the Trading Post, you will be able to acquire 1000 Trader's Tender per month through logging in and completing monthly activities.
Dragonflight Expansion bonus of 500 Extra Trader's Tender
If you have the Dragonflight expansion on your account, you will receive an additional 500 Trader’s Tender. Even if you purchased the expansion before this "offer", you will still be eligible for the bonus currency. This will show as an achievement being unlocked, called Trading Post: Dragonflight.
You can collect the additional 500 Trader’s Tender at your Collector's Cache. Please note that this bonus can only be claimed once per Battle.net account.
Trading Post: Dragonflight Quest
By completing a short introductory quest, where you talk and interact with different NPCs and items (a scroll on the pillar next to the main traders) at the Trading Post, you are rewarded with 500 Trader's Tender.
This is also once per Battle.net account, with the Trader's Tender reward collected via the Collector's Cache.
Get Monthly Trader’s Tender
You can collect 500 Trader's Tender every month from the Collector's Cache by logging in and visiting the trading Post in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
The Traveler’s Log
The Traveler's Log is an in-game feature that allows you to earn Trader’s Tender by participating in monthly themed activities. One of the advantages of the Traveler's Log is the variety of activities offered for you to earn the currency. You can continue playing the game as you normally would, for example, by completing quests, participating in battlegrounds, running Mythic+ dungeons, and celebrating holidays while earning Trader’s Tender through Traveler's Log activities.
It's important to note that the earning potential for Tender through the Traveler's Log is capped at 500 per month, so you only need to complete a selection of activities to earn the maximum amount of Tender. The system is designed to be flexible, allowing you to pick the activities YOU prefer and earn Tender by participating in them.
How to access the Traveler's Log:
The Adventure Journal (Shift-J) has been updated with a new feature called the Traveler's Log. The UI includes a bar that displays your monthly progress towards earning Trader's Tender and makes it easy to see how close you are to your next threshold. Once a threshold is reached, the earned Tender is automatically deposited into your Collector's Cache.
You will receive 100 Trader's Tender each time you fill the bar by 20% up to 100%. Additionally, filling the bar to 100% will reward you with Ash'adar, Harbinger of Dawn, a new mount that changes color based on the time of day. We don't know if filling the bar to 100% will grant a new reward every month, but hopefully, it does.
Trading Post Items
You will have the option to purchase a variety of different items at the trading post, including battle pets, transmog, and mounts. Additionally, you also have the opportunity to buy a previously removed mount known as the Celestial Steed.

Freeze an Item
By dragging and dropping a single item from the trading post, you can freeze it and prevent it from expiring. This grants you extra time to gather more Trader's Tender the following month, and purchase the item.

Being able to collect new items every month and possibly even bringing back old favorites, such as retired mounts and items, adds a whole new level of excitement and engagement to the game.
