The Echo of Aln’sharan is a new Sky Serpent mount in the Midnight expansion. To gain this mount you will need to farm 500 Mysterious Skyshards that drop from any mob inside of Harandar. These Mysterious Skyshards will only start to drop after completing the Legend of Aln’sharan storyline.
The Echo of Aln’sharan mount is very similar to the Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent and Alunira mounts in that you will need to farm a certain amount of items to acquire the mount. However unlike those mounts the Mysterious Skyshards item has a good droprate and is also warbound making it easy to collect and trade between your alts.

Completing the Legend of Aln’sharan Storyline
The first step to farming the currency required for the Echo of Aln’sharan is to complete the Legend of Aln’sharan storyline. This storyline will teach you about Aln’sharan, the pet of the goddess Aln’hara who was removed from her cradle in Harandar. In his sadness of the missing goddess Aln’sharan flew up into the roots of Harandar never to be seen again.
To Start this questline speak with Kuri who can be found at Har’kuai in Harandar and pick up the quests, Tales of the Sky and Ugh, Chores!.
If the quests are unavailable you may have to complete the campaign storyline Of Caves and Cradles first.

This is a short questline only containing 5 quests. Complete all of the quests along with the final quest The Legend of Aln’sharan to enable Mysterious Skyshards to start dropping from mobs in Harandar. If you are going to use multiple characters you will need to complete this storyline on each character to enable the Mysterious Skyshards to drop.
Farming Mysterious Skyshards
To gain the mount you will need to collect 500 Mysterious Skyshards. These can drop from any mob in Harandar with a good drop rate to accompany the amount you need to farm.
There are a few different ways you can farm the Mysterious Skyshards with each of the methods having its pros and cons. With testing there isn’t a “best” way to farm the Mysterious Skyshards so pick whatever method you prefer.
Rares
If you are looking for a fairly chill way to farm the Mysterious Skyshards you can defeat each of the rares inside of Harandar every day. All of the rares in Harandar will drop 1-2 Mysterious Skyshards and will also have a chance to drop the Rootstalker Grimlynx & Vibrant Petalwing mounts giving you multiple mounts to farm at the same time.
If you are looking for the locations of all the rares in Harandar you can use our Harandar Rare Locations Guide to save yourself some time.
Delves
Mysterious Skyshards can also drop inside of the Harandar Delves. The droprate of the Mysterious Skyshards does seem a little lower in delves but you can run them as many times as you like on any difficulty.
If you would like to learn more about the Harandar Delves you can use our Grudge Pit and The Gulf of Memory Guides.
Gathering
If you are also a fisher, herbalist or miner you can also defeat mobs while gathering. As a lot of the routes in Harandar are densely packed with mobs you can slowly farm some Mysterious Skyshards while waiting for nodes to respawn or if you get dazed and dismounted.
If you are looking for some routes to use for gathering you can use our Herbalism and Mining Routes.
Gaining The Mount
Once you have collected all 500 of your Mysterious Skyshards head back to Kuri who can be found at Har’Kuai in Harandar.

When you find Kuri, use your extra action button to throw all of your 500 Mysterious Skyshards into the lake. After throwing your shards into the lake you will gain a buff called Aln’sharan’s Blessing.
Once you have this buff you will need to find Aln’sharan who flies around the edges of the map in Harandar. When you get near Aln’sharan you will start to take a small amount of damage so be careful if you are low health.
When you find Aln’sharan interact with him by right clicking on him and the mount will appear in your bags. When you interact with him you will get dismounted so try and have some form of slowfall or a way to reset your momentum if you don’t want to fall from the sky.
After learning the mount from your bag you will gain the Feat of Strength achievement Herald of the Goddess to go along with your new mount.
We hope this guide has helped you add the Echo of Aln’sharan to your collection. If you are looking for more mounts to collect in Midnight you can check out our Midnight Mount Guides.
