The Gulf of Memory Delve Guide

The Gulf of Memory Delve Guide

Written by Roguery - 25th February 2026

The Gulf of Memory is one of the two Midnight delves in Harandar, and is a location important to the Haranir. In this guide we will go over the Delve mechanic, Trash mobs and Boss mechanics, as well as all the story variations and Sturdy Chest Locations for The Gulf of Memory.

]There are 3 versions of the Gulf of Memory Delve:

  1. Alnmoth Munchies
  2. Descent of the Haranir
  3. Sporesaurous Surprise

The Gulf of Memory Delve Entrance Location

The Gulf of Memory is located in the west of Harandar, hidden in a network of underground caves. The entrance to the cave is almost right by the portal.

The Gulf of Memory Delve Overview

This section covers things relevant to all versions of the Gulf of Memory Delve.

Delve Mechanic

Sapstick Lurkers is a delve mechanic which appears in all 3 versions of The Gulf of Memory. There are several circles around the delve. If you or an enemy stand in one of these, a lurker will come down from the ceiling and pull the person/NPC up stunning them for several seconds. You can kite enemies through these to trigger them, although since they come down again with the same HP it seems quite useless.

Delve Mobs

The mobs in Gulf of Memory will change depending on what version of the delve you are doing. These are the ones that we feel are worth highlighting.

Radiant Chloromancer are casters, who only cast a single interruptible ability called Blooming Shield. This puts a large absorb shield on them. We recommend interrupting this cast as often as you can, but prioritize interrupts on damaging abilities from other mobs first.

Thornblade are melee mobs with quite low damage. They have a single target ability called Bramble Blade, which applies a stacking damage over time disease. We recommend killing these as fast as possible, to prevent getting too many stacks, unless you easily dispel diseases.

Delve Boss

The boss for this delve is Lumenia. She is a fairly simple encounter, although small mistakes can easily spiral out of control

  • Command Light summons an add who moves slowly towards a player. The add does very heavy damage if it reaches you and should be kited.
  • Occasionally she will spawn circles, which after a few seconds activate and disorientate players unless they are facing away from the circle. The circles remain as zones on the floor and will deal damage and stun if stepped in.
  • She also casts Thorn Bolt which deals a fairly large amount of single target damage.

The best strategy to deal with Lumenia is to make sure you have cleared a fairly large area around the room where she spawns. Try to keep her central and away from walls, as when summoning the circles you get very few options of movement if you are close to the wall.

When she summons adds, kite them through the zones on the floor to stun them and deal pretty heavy damage to them for free. There is not really any point to dps the adds, since they move very slowly compared to Lumenia making them fairly easy to avoid while still hitting the boss.

Alnmoth Munchies

The first step for the Alnmoth Munchies version of the Gulf of Memory is to speak to Ashyao, which will let you start collecting pollen around the area. You will gain an extra action button that when clicked will do damage to nearby enemies, in addition it will collect pollen from plants on the floor. We recommend keybinding you extra-action button as it makes it much easier than to try and click it. You will need to defeat enemies and collect enough pollen to fill a progress bar to move on to the next stage.

Once you have collected enough pollen to fill the progress bar the boss will spawn.

Descent of the Haranir

The Descent of the Haranir version of the Gulf of Memory is a very unique delve. It has a lot of mobs and mechanics from previous delves, especially those from The War Within. The first section will have Kobolds, the second will have Nerubians and finally the last will have Abominations.

In the Kobold section of the dungeon you will need to light 8 candles. Make sure to look behind you, as you can find two easy candles right near the entrance.

While outside the area of a candle you will get the debuff Darkness, which increases your damage taken by 25% and your shadow damage taken by 100%. However, this affects both you and the enemies meaning you can stand inside the light from a candle and deal additional damage if you keep the enemies outside of the candle.

You will also need to collect treasure from either the trash heaps or by killing kobolds. Generally we found killing kobolds to be a bit more efficient, although this will probably depend on your class, spec and what difficulty you are doing.

The Nerubian area requires you to free 8 Haranir from webs. There is a large patrolling elite in this area, who we would recommend avoiding since it has a lot of HP and takes a long time to defeat. There are webs on the floor in the area, however, unlike the ones in The War Within delves, these do not summon Nerubians.

The final area has Abominations similar to ones found in the Excavation Site 9 delve in The Ringing Deeps. You will need to finish filling a bar by defeating enemies to summon the boss.

The boss for this version of the delve is unique to this story. It is Mul’tha’ul.

  • Summons Tentacles which slam the ground after a few seconds.
  • Casts Hopelessness which puts a large damage over time curse on all players, which also slows movement.
  • Unanswered Call is a 8 second fixate which you should kite. Mul’tha’ul will deal heavy physical damage to the target if he reaches them. In our experience most tanks needed to kite this on higher difficulties.

Similar to Lumenia, make sure you have cleared as much of the room as possible. Keep Mul’tha’ul fairly central as this gives you more options when trying to dodge the tentacle slams. If he fixates you with Unanswered Call, use a movement skill to move away as fast you can. Interrupt Hopelessness as much as possible. If one gets through and you can decurse, remove it as quickly as possible.

Sporesaurous Surprise

The Sporesaurous Surprise is very simple to complete. The first and only step of this delve is to kill 3 Sporesaurous and to fill a bar with other defeated enemies.

There are more than three Sporesaurous spread out in the delve, so you can pick which ones you want to defeat. To kill the Sporesaurous you first must remove the damage reduction shield. This is done by standing in circles on the ground, and bouncing spores back onto the Sporesaurous, dealing moderate damage and removing the shield. You only have to bounce one spore to remove the shield, however you might want to do more for the damage. Be aware that standing in a circle puts a stacking debuff on you.

As the Sporesaurous are elite we recommend pulling them on their own if you can. Once you have defeated all 3 and filled the progress bar, Lumenia will spawn.

The Gulf of Memory Sturdy Chest Locations

There are a total of 3 Sturdy Chests located within the Gulf of Memory. You don’t need any special delves to be active in order to access them. They are all easily obtainable but can be difficult to spot.
