Control Resonant brings strong Boss fights in which you need to get up close and personal. While in its predecessor you could take enemies out from afar thanks to Jesse using a gun as her main weapon, Dylan needs to get to melee distance since he uses sword-like attacks.
Some of these bosses can be tough if you are taking the route of the game's standard difficulty, and if you are reading this, you have encountered one of the strongest, if not the strongest Boss in Control Resonant: The Co-Director. This Boss is the last Resonant in the game, and in this guide, we will tell you how you can beat him.

How to Find the Co-Director in Control Resonant

This Resonant is tied to the quest The Unknown Resonant. The quest will be given to you automatically while you explore the Unknown zone. In addition to this task, you will be given the quest Pope's Research, in which you help Pope set up some probe relays that are hanging on balloons. This will create Gravity Wells that will help you navigate the Unknown region.
Thankfully, all the balloons' locations will be marked on your map. You will need to set up these balloons to reach the Unknown Resonant location, specifically the one in the Evac Building. This Gravity Well will take you to the Resonant zone, close to the Field Office.
However, when you reach the Field Office area, you will be met with other objectives, such as escorting some Rangers through the zone. After defending the Rangers from an attack, you will be stopped by a puzzle.

In this puzzle, there will be four Sheds moving around in the same way other gravity anomalies do in the game. While this puzzle might seem intimidating at first, it's actually simple. All you have to do is hit the Shed that is out of synchronization with the other three. Do this four times, and the door will open. After opening this door, you will need to carry electricity in the cubes to open the next one.
For the final locked door, you will have to jump to the rooftops to the right of the door to cross to the other side. The Rangers will stay behind, so you need to open the door for them. However, you will be ambushed on the other side. The Rangers will just end up throwing down the door and joining the fight. After surviving the ambush, you are cleared to enter the Unknown Resonant lair, the Field Office building.
How to Beat The Co-Director in Control Resonant

When you take the elevator with the Rangers, you will be confronted with The Co-Director. What makes this Resonant such a challenging fight is that it's timed. You have a limited time before the icon in the middle of the screen fills up and Dylan dies. You might be wondering what this status effect is and how to evade it. The answer is you can't.
This is the Command ability in use, which slowly takes over Dylan's mind over the course of the fight. Not only that, but the Resonant will take over the Rangers as well, turning them against you. This also includes your Summons, so DO NOT USE SUMMONS in this Boss fight.
While you cannot avoid the Command ability, you can prolong the time it takes to take effect with the Worn Eraser artifact. However, you obtain this artifact as a reward by defeating the Final Boss of the main story.
So, our advice is to finish the main story first before confronting this Resonant. No worries, after completing the main story, you can continue doing all the side content, including this fight.

If you are set on beating this Boss before finishing the main story, then be sure you are strong enough. Make sure you have lots of talents and Aberrant Form upgrades that enhance your Falter damage.
Falter damage is how you are going to defeat this Resonant before the time runs out. After filling the Falter meter, you will be able to deal serious damage for a few seconds. Take this opportunity to attack with everything you've got.
As for the Co-Director attacks and patterns, thankfully, they aren't that difficult to dodge since it takes a couple of seconds for the Resonant to prepare each one, giving you a good window to get ready. The hard part of the fight is taking him out before the timing of the Command ability ends. One of the most used abilities by this Resonant is long-range beams; you can easily evade this with Dodge and by using the columns as cover.
Getting close to the Resonant while he's doing the beam attack will completely cancel it, but he will switch to a spin attack, so beware of it. After the spinning attack, get close again and land some good melee combos.
After taking out half the HP of the Co-Director, more Rangers will arrive, who will be turned against you one by one. When turned, try to Falter them as well to do some executions for bonus damage, and to get some health drops if you need them.
When he loses half his HP, the Resonant will do more aggressive attacks, such as a longer spinning attack that follows you around and throwing projectiles. The strategy, though, will remain the same; stay close to the target using the columns as cover. Keep being aggressive since that is how the Falter meter builds.
Rewards From Beating The Co-Director

Defeating Resonant Bosses will reward you with a choice between two combat abilities. However, for The Co-Director, you will be given only one: Command. Yes, that ability that was annoying you for the entire fight is now yours to use against any enemy type, except for main Bosses.
Using Command will turn enemies into allies. This ability costs Command Charges, which you can earn back by defeating enemies that have a purple marker around them.
In addition to the Command ability, you will be rewarded with the Untapped 1996 Commemorative Coin artifact, one Reset Item, 4000 Source, and the Casual Outfit: Resonants cosmetic.
