In Control Resonant, you will come across a variety of secondary quests. These quests can vary in their objectives, with some making you go into combat or solve puzzles. The Unsupervised Science side quest will have you doing both of these tasks.
In this quest, Dylan needs to shut down some FBC testing facilities that are underground. There are a total of six facilities, and in this guide, we will give you the answer to how to solve the puzzles these facilities contain and where to find them.

How to Solve the Soda Machine Puzzles
In these facilities, you will find two types of puzzles. One of these puzzles will require you to change some objects into a Soda Machine to complete. To start, at the beginning of the room you’ll find a board that explains the items and their patterns, which go as follows: stove, sink, copy machine, soda machine.
These patterns change whenever you pass a yellow tape. Your objective is to place the soda machine into the yellow square marks. Going back and forth through the same line won’t work; it changes back to the previous shape. So, the best advice for solving this puzzle is to find a T-shaped yellow tape and go in circles around it until you get the desired pattern that takes you to the square as the soda machine.
How to Solve the Power Cores Puzzles
The other type of puzzle that you will find in these facilities is the Power Cores. In this one, you have to balance the power pylons with electricity for 60 seconds. You have to keep them from overloading or turning off until the time is over.
Our recommendation for this puzzle is to go in circles as well, so that you can keep track of the pattern. You can always keep an eye on the pylons’ light indicators. If they are getting close to max energy, the power box will start showing bigger electricity spikes. The light on top of each pylon will also start blinking when close to a limit.
Downtown Testing Facility
In the Downtown zone, you will find the facility in the Deserted Area inside the construction site. Be ready for combat inside the building, and you will find the entrance to the facility on the lower level. The puzzle here is with the Soda Machines.
Central Testing Facility
For the Central facility entrance, head east of the Patterned Factory. On the other side of that factory street, you will discover the construction site tunnel entrance. This facility offers a Power Core puzzle.
West Incursion Zone Testing Facility
The entrance to the West Incursion Zone facility is a bit farther away. From the House of Mirrors Fast Travel Door, follow the street south, then turn right on the second avenue. On that street, you will find a construction tunnel, just in the middle of that road. In this facility, you will find a Soda Machine puzzle.
The Park Testing Facility
You will find the tunnel entrance for the Testing Facility in The Park just by the Mold Factory fast travel door. Beware with this one, as there is mold-related toxic damage and enemies in the area. For this facility, you need to solve a Power Cores puzzle.
Evacuation Zone Testing Facility
For the Evacuation Zone facility, just fast travel to the Survivalist Bunker door, and you will find the tunnel entrance just below. This one requires you to solve another Soda Machines puzzle.
Unknown Testing Facility
In the last zone you will visit, Unknown, you will find the facility entrance just by the fast travel door in the center of the zone. In the center of that middle island zone, you will find a large construction site; in the street below, you will find that entrance. Beware of many enemies in this area. In this facility, you will solve a Power Core puzzle.
However, solving the puzzle won’t be the end of this facility. Here, the objective will update to “Go into the threshold.” Follow the path to the right first and disable the panel there, then go to the middle path to complete the quest. Completing the quest will reward you with the Untapped Scrunchie artifact.
