Phantom Blade Zero: All Banyan Tree Locations

Phantom Blade Zero: All Banyan Tree Locations

Written by Callum Marshall - 5th November 2026

If you want to unlock all the skills on your skill tree in Phantom Blade Zero, collecting Remnant Dust will only get you so far. This is because to unlock certain skills, you need to collect Banyan Hearts, a rare material that is typically found by interacting with human-faced Banyan Trees.

The problem is that these trees aren't exactly growing wild and free everywhere on the map. There are only five of them in the game, and to extract their heart, you need to survive several enemy waves. So, if you need a hand finding these trees or surviving the gauntlet that comes with each Banyan Heart extraction, we have a guide that will help.

Buying Banyan Hearts

Before we get into the locations of the Banyan Trees, we feel it's important to mention that you can also buy Banyan Hearts. These can be purchased from Quick Hand Zhang, with a new Banyan Heart appearing in their inventory every time you find one in a new hideout.

Each Banyan Heart costs a whopping 100,000 Remnant Dust, so relying on obtaining Banyan Hearts from trees is definitely a better option early in the game when there are better things to be spending your dust on. However, if you have the Dust to spare, you can grab these from Quick Hand Zhang.

All Banyan Heart Tree Locations

If you're not keen to pay for your Banyan Hearts, then you'll need to know where to find each of the Banyan Trees, of which there are five in the game. Here is a location for each one:

Banyan Tree Location #1

The first Banyan Tree you will come across is the one located in the Crimson Forest region. This is accessed closest to the Parting Mists Bell. Meaning you will need to progress through most of the second region to get to this area.

Note: This tree looks inaccessible due to the large body of water around it, but you are able to wade over there and interact with the tree.

Banyan Tree Location #2

The second Banyan Tree will present itself once you have reached Pangzhen. This tree is located on an island between the Old Man Gen's House Bell and the Lion Dance Hell Bell.

Banyan Tree Location #3

The third Banyan Tree you'll come across is right at the beginning of The Mandate Encampment. Begin from the Sunset Path Bell, and just up the hill to your right you'll find the Banyan Tree. If you find yourself at the Cliffside Walkway Entrance, you've gone too far.

Banyan Tree Location #4

Your penultimate Banyan Tree is located in Miegu Lake. This means you will need to complete the Motorboat quest in Pangzhen by accessing the Pangzhen Docks. From there, sail out in your boat and hug the edge of the river on your right, heading past the Village Of Lu Shallows Dock. You will then come across the Lake Banyan Dock, and on this island is another Banyan Tree.

Banyan Tree Location #5

Your final Banyan Tree to complete the set is located in the Mountain of Imprisonment. Which means that you will need to complete the Illusory Pipa questline to gain access to this region. You'll need to proceed until you access the Shrine Outer Gate Bell, where the last Banyan Tree will be waiting right up ahead.

Note: If you need an extensive guide on how to fix the Illusory Pipa, we have a quest guide that will help you out.

General Tips For Surviving Enemy Waves

Finally, while we don't feel it's all that necessary to give you an extensive guide on how to beat the enemy waves for each tree. There are some general tips that might help you ace these battles:

  • Typically you'll be fighting two waves of fodder enemies before a mini-boss fight. So we would suggest accessories like Mother's Talisman that grants healing for every guard you break.
  • A lot of the enemy waves you'll encounter at Banyan Trees will have shields and spiked shields. So we would suggest equipping the Shieldbreaker Talisman and having the Dread Axe as an active Phantom Edge.
  • Almost all the fights you'll face at the end of these Banyan Tree interactions will be double boss fights. We suggest focusing entirely on one of them to get them off the screen as fast as possible, making the remainder of the fight much more manageable.
  • There will be a lot of enemies to fight during these Banyan Tree fights, so try to keep all enemies on screen and in your sights.
  • While having the Banyan Hearts as early as possible does benefit you as new skills become available, remember that if a fight is too tough, you can always just come back later, the tree isn't going anywhere.
