The Blood of Dawnwalker: How To Romance Crake

The Blood of Dawnwalker: How To Romance Crake

Written by Callum Marshall - 2nd September 2026

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a massive, all-encompassing open-world RPG with almost everything you could possibly want from a game within the genre. Deep combat, great writing, memorable quests, oodles of content, and, of course, romance options.

These romance options tend to be a little more shrouded in mystery compared to other titles, as you need to follow a specific set of questlines and dialogue options within to trigger these. However, if you dig deep, you'll find a little bit of loving along the way.

One such option is the leader of the rebellion, Crake. He might not seem like he's all that into you, as a human being, never mind a love interest. But we can help you break down his walls and find out his deepest secret of all.

Prerequisites To Crake Romance

Frosty first impressions with Crake during Shadows in the Woods

To romance Crake, you need to complete a series of quests, leading up to, but not actually committing to, the final quest siding with Crake and the Manumits.

This means you need to complete the following quests:

  • The Firebrand
  • Shadows In The Woods
  • Where Loyalties Lie
  • What Hunts The Night
  • What Moves The Dead
  • Who Pulls The Strings
  • Distant Shadows

As far as we can tell throughout these quests involving Crake, the only way that you can derail a potential romance between the two of you is by killing him, which is an option by giving in to the hunger when in discussion with him

Otherwise, up until the next quest in the chain, you are free to make whatever choices you like.

This means you can handle Ascar however you choose, so you don't need to stress too much about being sneaky.

The only other prerequisite is that players need to up their infamy at least a third of the way along the bar (Notorious), as this is the only way to trigger the quest 'Where Loyalties Lie'. Which means you will also need to complete side content related to Xanthe, Bakir, and Ambrus.

A Closer Look - Crake's Secret Revealed

Post act of passion with Crake

After you handle Ascar, you'll report the findings to Crake, and when you ask him what Ascar is to him, he will refuse to answer and get very upset with the whole conversation, storming out of the hideout.

At which point Drago will come up to you and tell you about his secret spot near Greifburg Tower. You should then head out there, where you'll find him training swordsmanship by a campfire.

The do-or-don't moment with Crake

From there, the conversation has to go a particular way if you want to romance Crake. Here's how it has to go:

  • May I join you then
  • I'm worried about you. What's wrong?
  • I know what this is about
  • Ascar is your father
  • Why?
  • Hey, Nothing you say can change the way I see you
  • Kiss him back (1 time notch)

At any point you are rude to him, or you state that you aren't into it, this romance scene won't happen.

However, if you get to the point that he reveals his true nature and then you say you aren't interested, you will still gain the 'The Manumit' achievement.

And just like that, you've bedded the leader of the rebellion.
