In the Blood of Dawnwalker, Lacra is a vrakhir companion and one of three romanceable characters in the game. Unlike Anca, who has known Coen for much longer and is much more open towards him, Lacra is rather closed off, and it can take some time for her to open up and progress her bond with him.

Lacra Quest Progression & Romance Prerequisites
Lacra has a five-step questline that you must complete to reach the point of romancing her. These quests are in order as listed below:
- A Friend Like This
- Song of the Mountain
- Hive and Seek
- Our Rotten Roots
- The Night of Horrors
Where to Find Lacra For the First Time
Option 1 - Follow the Signs of Struggle
The easiest way to first meet Lacra is to make your way to Svartrau city. At the Inner Walls section of Svartrau City, you may come across some blood on the ground and signs of a struggle. If you do not, you can locate it with the use of focus mode.
Coen will make a point of wanting to investigate the rooftops, where the damage has appeared to have fallen from. Use focus mode on the rooftops and continue following the signs of damage. Eventually this will lead you to Lacra, who will be interrogating an Uriash named Nish. Completing the interrogation will progress further into Lacra's questline, moving on to Song of the Mountain.
Note: During the interrogation, take a passive and patient approach to interrogating Nish. Take the approach of insisting you can trust and help one another. Noting you as more approachable than Lacra, Nish will finally reveal where to look for his Uriash clan. Do not set Nish free, as he will then fail to provide the information.
Alternate Paths for Meeting Lacra
There are also additional options that lead to first meeting Lacra, but they take more time... and as time is such a valuable resource in this game, it's better to go with the prior option
- Option 1 - Start the "A Study in Crimson" quest, speaking to Vicho. He will mention Lacra, which will initiate the "A Friend Like This" objective.
- Option 2 - Defeat Ambrus. Upon looting his corpse, you will find a note that mentions Lacra, triggering the quest.
Song of the Mountain - Fight the Uriash or Not?
During Song of the Mountain, you and Lacra follow the lead from Nish in an attempt to track down his Uriash clan. Follow the path with Lacra, and eventually you will stumble upon a group of the Uriash. The main decision for this quest is choosing whether to fight them or take a peaceful approach.
Avoid confronting the Uriash in a fight at all costs. Lacra will be ready to brawl at any point, so you need to choose dialogue options that both try to calm her, as well as pacifist options towards the clan. Drop your weapons when instructed and take the brunt of the Uriash's test when they begin to throw rocks at you. This will earn respect of the Elder, who will then help you, pointing you in the direction for your next quest with Lacra - "Hive and Seek".
Hive and Seek - Finding Isbrand
The Hive and Seek quest will see you and Lacra track down an ancient vrakhir known as Isband. This quest is rather linear, and there aren't any major decisions that can impact the possibility of romancing Lacra, but you can pick up some nice Legendary Armor during this time (Isbrand's Plate), so be sure to check out our complete Hive and Seek quest walkthrough.
Our Rotten Roots - Which Path Should You Choose?
In Our Rotten Roots, you and Lacra will travel to Anachora, a dimension built from memories - many of which are dark and deeply traumatic. As you progress through this world, you and Lacra will uncover many of Isbrand's memories, mostly involving Brencis. In search of information from these memories, there will come a point where you come to a forked path, and you must choose if you progress forward on the left or right route.
If you attempt to take the left route, Lacra will sternly indicate that there's no need to waste time with that particular memory, and that you should look elsewhere. If you push back on why, she will reveal that the memory involves her, and it is particularly painful.
At this point, you should respect Lacra's wishes and switch to the right-side path. She will thank you for your understanding, and then you can move though the rest of the quest with her at your side. Once she is ready, she will open up about this memory later on, anyhow.
If you choose to ignore her and witness the memory for yourself, Lacra will be hurt and angered, and will tell you that you are now on your own. This will leave you to complete the remainder of the quest yourself. While it may not completely lock you out of patching things up and romancing her later, the assistance for combat is very handy, so it's just the better choice to respect her wishes.
Once Our Rotten Roots concludes, Lacra will tell you to meet her in another day or two, which will kick off the next quest - "The Night of Horrors".
Unlocking Lacra's Romance - The Night of Horrors
The Night of Horrors quest is where you and Lacra will finally progress your bond and her romance scene will unlock - but only if you choose the correct answers. We've covered the most relevant pieces of information below, but we've also compiled a complete walkthrugh for this quest, so be sure to check that out if you want more thorough information, including a free Legendary Sword that can be looted along the way.
Note: This quest is time sensitive. Be sure to plan ahead accordingly, as making the wrong decisions during these events can permanently lock you out of Lacra's romance and even result in an unfortunate end for her.
When working with Lacra to influence the Will-o-the-wisps, select the honest, painful answers. Open up about your struggles with the burden of taking care of your family, your urge for freedom, and your fears that one day bloodlust may completely take over you as a vrakhir.
Once you reach Kallias' chamber, choose the following options.
- Eat the Mandrake
- Follow Lacra
- Drink from Lacra
- Kiss Lacra
After choosing these options, the romance scene will play out, and Coen and Lacra will share an intimate scene together. The quest will conclude the following morning after Coen has woken up. This will also conclude her questline, other than the final showdown with Brencis.
