The Blood of Dawnwalker: All Sanzhani Quest Locations

The Blood of Dawnwalker: All Sanzhani Quest Locations

Written by Callum Marshall - 3rd September 2026

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a game with a lot of pretty dark things. So, it's a little jarring when you first come across the Sanzhani, a group of fairy-like creatures that live in burrows all over the map.

You'll come to find that they are pretty helpful and can actually be your carrier pigeon of sorts, able to get messages to Lunka locked away in Greifburg Tower.

However, to get the chance to send all these letters to Lunka, you'll need to find and complete all the quests linked to the Sanzhani people, and please their leader, the Tsarina. Here's how to find them, and what they entail.

A good starting point is doing the Good Home quest that unlocks the burrow where you'll find the leader of the Sanzhani, the Tsarina. Which, in turn, allows you to send letters to Lunka earliest.

To begin this quest, you'll want to head to the burrow. You might stumble upon this by following the trail of glowing patches of mushrooms leading to the burrow. But just in case this eludes you, head to the area marked on the map.

Inside, you'll encounter a small child living amongst the Sanzhani called Heile. She will ask you to find her brother Tonis in her old residence of Oghasti. The whole situation is a little ominous, but just go with it and head for Oghasti.

The Wooden Palace near Oghasti

When you arrive, you'll find that the town is deserted and desolate, wiped out by the plague. However, by investigating, you'll find that there is evidence of Helie's family living here. Then, when you visit the Wooden Palace, you'll find that someone has been there recently, and your view of the Woodcutter's yard suggests someone there might know.

Head there, and after following the trail of marked trees into the forest, you'll find a grown man who goes by the same name as Helie's brother. Get Tonis to follow you back to the burrow, and this will wrap things up.

Talking to Tonis in the woods

Tonis will promise to return with pitchforks to free his sister from the Tsarina. But, this is of little concern to you, because you have done what is asked of you, and you'll be given the option to send a letter to Lunka with the help of the Sanzhani.

Helie and the Tsarina

Because you can complete 5x quests and send all five letters, it doesn't matter too much which one you choose to send. So do as you please, and then you can set off to find the other quests.

All Other Sanzhani Quest Locations

Now that you have had your first run-in with the Sanzhani people, you have good reason to help them out. Here are all the quests you will need to complete to earn the 'The Tsarina's Favourite Human' achievement:

Tiny Dancer

Starting point of the Tiny Dancer Quest, shown on the in-game map

The first quest many will encounter is found in the city of Swartrau, and can only be accessed at night, as it is located in one of the various Curious Houses in the city.

Head to this area of the map at night and use the second-floor balcony to get inside. Where you will need to sacrifice two time notches to free a Sanzhana from a cage. The key to the cage is on the desk nearby.

Come Hither

Starting point of the Come Hither Quest, shown on the in-game map

Next, we have Come Hither, a quest that is found nearest the Tantari Watermill Shrine. You will find a Sanshana by the marshes asking for help, as their burrow has been taken by a Murohn.

You won't be able to save her Sanzhani peers, but you will be able to kill the Murohn and earn another letter to Lunka. Plus, this is a great opportunity to get Silk Threads for the Bulwark Against Darkness questline.

Pearly & Precious

Starting point of the Pearly and Precious Quest, shown on the in-game map

Next, you'll find some glowing mushrooms that will lead you to a Sanzhana looting a dead corpse. Specifically, their teeth.

It turns out that they have struck a deal with nearby bandits, as every time they kill and deliver a corpse, they are rewarded with riches from the Sanzhani. However, you can kill the bandits, and the Sanzhani can have their teeth, so everyone wins.

Follow the trail using focus mode to their camp, and after defeating them, this will earn you another letter and access to a new merchant.

Pro Tip: If you want to make money fast in this game, do this quest early, as doing so will mean enemies will drop Shiny Teeth, which can be sold for a tidy profit to this merchant

Burrow Sorrows

Starting point of the Burrow Sorrows Quest, shown on the in-game map

Lastly, we have Burrow Sorrows, a quest that is located near the Small Bridge shrine just south of the military camp. Here, you'll find a Sanzhana who is claiming that Kobolds have taken their burrow and stolen their charm.

They'll request that you go in, kill all the Kobolds, and retrieve the Charm, which will cost two time notches. As it turns out, the Kobolds were just minding their own business, and you were tricked into claiming the burrow for the Sanzhani. But no matter, as you've earned the last letter.

Rewards & Sending Letters To Lunka

Earning more time after completing all Tsarina quests

The rewards for this quest are initially pretty pathetic, but eventually end up being arguably the most valuable of all quests in the game.

For completing each quest, you will be able to return to the burrow and send a letter to Lunka, which will get you a response that you can then read in your inventory at your own leisure. When you read all five, the Letters to Lunka quest ends, and you receive 250XP for the trouble.

However, the true reward here is when you return after completing all five of the Sanzhani quests, as the Tsarina will offer you a special reward. Time.

You will receive an additional day on top of the standard 30 days before Brencis Coronation. A chance to tie up more loose ends, get more powerful, and be ready when the time comes.
