Phantom Blade Zero: How To Get The Flesh Lily

Phantom Blade Zero: How To Get The Flesh Lily

Written by Callum Marshall - 1st November 2026

As far as side quests go in Phantom Blade Zero, the Flesh Lily quest is the earliest one you'll acquire, as you'll be tasked by Yu'er to find a rare flower rumoured to be able to cure her father's illness. But, as with any rare cure, it usually doesn't come easy.

That's where you come in, as you'll need to explore Weeping Valley Creek and discover where this flower is growing wild. This requires finding a secret area and fighting a pretty deadly early-game boss. That said, we will try to make the process as easy as we can for you, allowing you to get back to Yu'er and accompany her to Pangzhen.

You'll come across Yu'er in the forest where you begin your adventure, and if you choose the dialogue option 'Ask how to save her father'. You'll be informed of the Flesh Lily's healing properties and be asked to track one down.

From here, you can then push on through the Outpost, defeat Peng Meng, and work your way to the Sha-Chi Tower.

After you reach the Sha-Chi Tower, you'll have the option to scale the building and find the NPC who is hungry for a Primal Stone, and work towards finding and defeating The Hunt. But what you should do if you want to find the Flesh Lily is head to the back of the first floor, and you'll notice a passage that leads to a wooden slide.

This will take you down to a new area filled with enemies and will allow you to access a boss arena where you'll need to fight Hua, Deadly Betrothed. The bride who acts as the guardian of the Flesh Lilies.

How To Beat Hua, Deadly Betrothed

First, we want to suggest an early game build that will give you the best chance against this boss. This build is based on items that can be acquired without pushing on to the Crimson Forest:

  • Primary Weapon: Jagged Steel
  • Phantom Edge: Dread Axe
  • Accessories: Battle Wraps, Hunter's Insight, Reflex Device
  • Medicines: Healing Gourd, Vessel Restorative

Then as for the fight itself, we have a handful of quick tips that might help you stand a chance of not becoming this bride's next unfortunate potential spouse:

  • Try to use your sword art combos right after their stamina bar refills, as you should be able to break them again without the boss being able to go on the offensive again.
  • Be sure to watch out for their red glowing prompts specifically, as these trigger inescapable grab attacks that deal huge damage.
  • Avoid their red flower patches; spatial awareness is key in this fight
  • When she spawns white flowers, back off and hold block to get rid of them; otherwise they will hone in on you and upset your rhythm.

Quest Rewards

When you head back to Yu'er and turn in the quest by giving her a Flesh Lily, aside from being given the spare Flesh Lily back, there isn't a direct reward for completing this quest.

The biggest reward is that you'll have completed one of three linked Yu'er quests tied to the 'The Healer's Legacy' achievement.

However, for defeating Hua, Deadly Betrothed along the way, you'll get your hands on the Scarlet Wraithblade. An early-game weapon that remains very useful through to the mid-to-late game if upgraded.
