Where to Find Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet

To find Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet, you need to remove the red thread barriers that are blocking the entrance to the Village of Lu well. There are a few steps you will need to work through:
- Speak to the puppets at the well to begin the next phase of the Heartless Remnants quest.
- Follow and progress through the paths/buildings.
- Defeat Master Bi Yuan, Master Bi Hai, and Acolyte Yanru.
- Pick up optional collectibles / mark side objects along the way.
Doing so will eventually remove the barrier of red thread from the well, enabling you to jump down into the Smuggler's Tunnel below. Progress through the tunnel, and you will soon find yourself in the Puppet Training Grounds.
Follow the general path forward, and eventually you will come to a corridor with an open area where Yuzan will be waiting, playing her pipa. The exact location is marked on the map screenshot below:

How to Beat Yuzan

Yuzan has a couple of key attacks that can be deadly if they go unchecked, but surprisingly she can actually be a bit easier than some of the other bosses once you know what to look for.
This is mostly because you can deflect one of the hits from her primary combo towards her, causing damage/stagger. Here's a strong loadout to consider for this fight to make it as easy as possible, and some tips for Yuzan's other notable threats and key moves:
Best Loadout for the Yuzan Fight

A powerful loadout for the boss battle against Yuzan is the Outlaw Blade / Tianxuan Bronze Sword / Hunter's Chain Sickle / Bastion. This enables you to continue applying pressure throughout every attack phase and also add an emergency defensive reaction.
- The Outlaw Blade is one of the strongest weapons for many fights, and at this point you likely have it at a higher level, making it a frontrunner. The ability to restore HP in a fight through the weapon goes a long way.
- Tianxuan Bronze Sword works well here as a secondary weapon too. Usually, it would be more of a double-edged sword, as the weapon offers reduced Sha-Chi consumption when blocking, but at the sacrifice of being able to parry when this weapon is in use. However, it works better for this fight as Yuzan has so many deflectable attacks - you can use this sword for the specific combos/phases to save some extra Sha-Chi and then go all out with Outlaw Blade and Hunter's Chain Sicker once you hit the stagger.
- Hunter's Chain Sickle is a must; it's perfect for this fight as, once again, you'll likely have it leveled up a bit, and it offers you ranged damage to continue chipping away at her health even when you need to avoid melee. You really won't need to use much of another Phantom Edge, as the Hunter's Chain and your primary weapons cover everything you'll need.
- However, to round out the setup and add an emergency defensive option, we've selected Bastion. It's not often the best choice in a fight, but during combat with Yuzan, she will start to throw red attacks in the middle of her deflectable combos.
-
- If you mess up when this attack is about to hit, you can make a minor adjustment and bring your shield up at the last second to block the hit. Keep it as an emergency option if you're worried about your survivability.
Tips for Fighting Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet

- Yuzan's main combos are deflectable. Make sure to use this to deplete big chunks of her stagger bar and weave attacks in between her projectile flurries.

- If Yuzan generates a red and blue AOE around her, back off immediately. This is the time you want to use Hunter's Chain Sickle to do damage from afar.
- You can also interrupt this attack completely if you time it early.

- She also uses red and blue musical blades. These are fairly easy to see coming, so make sure you block or dodge them.

- She will also start to weave these blades into her deflectable projectile combo, so be prepared to time your dodge while you are deflecting. If you're caught off guard, this is where Bastion can come in for a clutch save, blocking her heavy-damage red shot.

- Between phases, she will also take up the field with several wind spheres. They gravitate towards you, pull you in, and can quickly wither down your health, so make sure as soon as you see the gust of wind you pivot back to the edges of the arena, past the campfires, and keep moving until the attack times out.
Yuzan Fight Rewards

Once you beat Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet, you will gain the Heartrend Pipa, a Phantom Edge that can create those very familiar red and black musical blade attacks.
Now you'll be able to proceed forward and meet the final boss keeping you from entering Pangzhen, Mu Xiaokui.
