News Header

Patch 7.3.5: Everything You Need to Know

Patch 7.3.5 will be live January 16th for US and January 17th for EU along with the final LFR wing of Antorus, The Burning Throne. We have rounded up all the important things that are coming for the patch so that you can be prepared for launch day.

Increased Backpack Size

Attaching the Authenticator to your account gives you 4 additional backpack slots.

  • This will give you a total of 20 slots for the backpack.
  • If you already have it then you will gain the 4 slots when the patch is live.
  • You can use the Android & iPhone app version or the physical version.
  • For those who have not used the authenticator for their account,  you will also get the Core Hound Pup battle pet. This battle pet was added in 2009 in Patch 3.3 for linking an authenticator.

Mythic+ Dungeons

  • Combat Resurrection Change
    • This is now a shared resource with a 10-minute recharge with a maximum of 5 charges.

Profession Changes

  • Rich Illusion Dust
    • This has replaced several Enchanting & Tailoring reagents for level 1 - 60 recipes.

Legendary Changes

  • Awoken Titan Essence
    • This is now sold by Arcanomancer Vridiel as a vendor item versus from a quest reward.
    • Cost: 300 Wakening Essence.
    • This also means you will no longer need to go pick up the quests for every upgrade.
  • Purified Titan Essence
    • This creates a Legion Legendary for your loot specialization by way of Synthesizing.
    • This is sold by Arcanomancer Vridiel.
    • Cost: 1000 Wakening Essence.
    • This is Bind on Pickup.
    • This does not affect the chance of earning a Legendary through the normal RNG methods.
    • If you purchase this on a character that has all the available legendaries, it will create BOA legendary token for another class.
  • Wakening Essence Currency
    • You can start saving your Wakening Essences now for use after the patch.
    • Saving your emissary cache's to open after the patch is live will not make a difference, they will contain increased Wakening Essence.
    • The rate at which you acquire the Wakening Essence has been increased.
    • They now drop from all sources.

        • Wowhead has some speculation on the meaning of the journal entries that will likely contain spoilers. Check it out here.

I have outlined some additional story below. However, be warned it may contain spoilers.

After we killed Argus, Sargeras stabbed Azeroth, wounding Silithus. Don't worry, the gigantic sword is still sticking out in all of its glory. Azeroth will need to be healed which has already begun. Alliance and Horde have set up shop near the wound to help mine the newly sprouted Azerite nodes all around the wound and help heal the wound. While doing this small quest chain, we will see Dadgar of course along with good ole Magni.

Speaking of Magni, for the quest "A Speaker's Perspective,"  he is located (42,43) on the upper, left side of the wound.

SELFIE Camera Update

  • The new camera has a new ability for background filters.
    • In order to use the background filters, you will need to collect them.
    • Collecting them is similar to how we collected the jukebox music scrolls.
    • The ones we know of so far are:
      • Firelands Filter
        • Viewing the Firelands sky.
        • How to get: Take a selfie with Ragnaros in Firelands.

Future Content

  • Artifact Weapons
    • With the datamined dialogue, cutscene, and other information, it is likely this will happen either at the end of Patch 7.3.5 or a pre-expansion patch. My guess is something like a 7.4 patch perhaps.
  • Unlocking Allied Races
    • We know we will be able to unlock Allied Races with the Battle For Azeroth pre-order.
    • This suggests that some of the Allied Races will be playable either at the end of Patch 7.3.5 or a pre-expansion patch.
    • It stands to reason that Blizzard would want us to be able to unlock the Allied Races so that we can level them for use in BFA.

Check out the video breakdown here:
