Boss Strategy

This guide focuses on the Heroic Na’shala the Sandweaver encounter in Thousand Needles but also works for the normal version.

heroic nashala map

Minis in Na’shala the Sandweaver’s army

  • Chain Lightning - Storm’s Reach
  • Darkspear Troll - Headhunting
  • Firehammer - Moultin’ Metal
  • Frostwolf Shaman - Earth Shield
  • Gryphon Rider - Mighty Throw
  • Mountaineer - Frenzied Spirit
  • Warsong Grunts - Blood Pact

Other minis and map mechanics

In the Na’shala the Sandweaver encounter, every mini either you or the boss deploys spawns with a Mirage copy. The Mirage copy has -75% health, but is otherwise an identical copy of the original. Squad minis spawn only one Mirage, i.e. playing a flock of Angry Chickens only gives you one additional Mirage copy.

This makes Na’shala an excellent map for completing various event challenges where you need to play a specific number of minis because the Mirages count for the challenge goals.

In the Heroic version of Na’shala, your original minis are also Mirages of themselves! Instead of a full mini and a Mirage, you get two Mirages. Na’shala still gets a normal mini alongside the Mirage.

The normal version of Na’shala has some additional timed spawns that are absent from the Heroic version:

  • A starter mini group of Gryphon Rider, Darkspear Troll, and a pair of Warsong Grunts
  • Earth Elementals with a Mirage copy that spawn every 60 seconds, starting at 2:30

When you approach Na’shala, she summons four Mirage copies of herself that last for 10 seconds. This ability has a 20-second cooldown.

Na’shala the Sandweaver:

  • 5200 health
  • Death Coil: 80 Elemental damage, 1.2 seconds attack speed, 9 range
  • Mirage: Summons four Na’shala Mirages, 9 range, 20 seconds cooldown

Na’shala Mirage:

  • 2000 health
  • 10 seconds duration
  • Death Coil: 80 Elemental damage, 1.2 seconds attack speed, 9 range

General strategy

Cheap minis that deal a lot of damage are very effective because of the Mirage copies. S.A.F.E. Pilot is one of my favorites in this map because the Mirage copy will also crash in the same location.

Use your firepower to take the Towers and attack Na’shala. You can use some Unbound minis to add even more damage to your assault.
