Void-Scarred Gryphon
Abandoned by its trainers the Void-Scarred Gryphon scrounged on any scrap of food that remained, most corrupted by the void. With the void now sustaining them, they only land when their fickle tastes are satisfied by untainted food that they just remember enjoying.
How to get the Void-Scarred Gryphon Mount
The Void-Scarred Gryphon is a mount obtained from the Vision of Stormwind (Revisited) released with Patch 11.1.5. This can only be done on the 2 masks or higher difficulty of the Vision of Stormwind, so make sure you have those unlocked.
This is one of three Void-Scarred Mounts available from Horrific Visions. To collect this secret mount you need to prepare a number of common cooking food items, clear your way through the Horrific Vision, solve a small riddle for which food you need to feed the Gryphon and then defeat the Gryphon.
Step 1 - Obtain Food
Before entering the Vision you will need to obtain a Portioned Steak, Chopped Mycobloom, Spiced Meat Stock, Fresh Fillet, Skewered Fillet, Roasted Mycobloom, Simple Stew and Unseasoned Field Steak. These can all either be obtained with the cooking profession or purchased from the Auction House.
Step 2 - Enter The Vision of Stormwind
Once you enter the Vision of Stormwind make sure to activate 2 masks before starting, once in, head to the Trade District. Clear out the enemies around the Flight Master Area.
Near the ramp you will find a bowl if you travel up the ramp you will find a note. Interacting with the note will have one of four options written on it:
- "Now it seems the picky eater only wants to eat fish."
- "Now it seems the picky eater only wants to eat fungus."
- "Now it seems the picky eater only wants to eat meat that has been spiced."
- "Now it seems the picky eater only wants to eat steak."
If you backtrack a little you will find a 2nd note on the right hand side, this note will tell you if the food needs to be cooked or not:
- "In case I forget to mention it, the food should be raw!"
- "In case I forget to mention it, the food should be cooked!
If you interact with the bowl you can place food inside the bowl. Based on what both notes in your Horrific Vision have told you, the correct food is listed in the table below.

Important: If you use the wrong food it will spawn some rats and the bowl will despawn, meaning you need to restart the Horrific Vision and check the notes again (as the correct combination may have changed).
Interact with the bowl to place the correct food inside the bowl, then interact with it again to shake the bowl. If correct, this will spawn the Void-Scarred Gryphon.
Step 3 - Kill The Void-Scarred Gryphon
Once you shake the bowl, a Void-Scarred Gryphon will fly down and attack you. Once you have killed the Gryphon, you will be able to loot it and receive the Reins of The Void-Scarred Gryphon.
