Sthaarbs's Last Lunch
When one cosmically invasive threat meets another, sometimes the smaller will end up on the menu of the larger. At least cosmic observers don't always chew their meals.
How to get the Sthaarbs's Last Lunch Mount
Sthaarbs’s Last Lunch is a Mount from Patch 11.2. To obtain it, players must venture into the phase diving version of K’aresh and track down the rare Sthaarbs. The Mount has a chance to drop as a reward for defeating Sthaarbs, with a weekly lockout per character.
For certain geared specs, Sthaarbs should be soloable. However, undergeared characters may need to find a group, and pet classes in particular may have a more difficult time due to pathing issues.
The Group Finder can be utilised to both find or create groups to defeat the Rare easier, or to find a phase where the Rare is active.
This guide will help you unlock the K’aresh and Phase Diving prerequisite, locate the Sthaarbs Rare spawn and understand how to defeat it for a chance at looting the Sthaarbs’s Last Lunch mount for yourself.
Unlock K’aresh and Phase Diving
To find Sthaarbs and be able to attack the Rare, you will first need to unlock the ability to Phase Dive, which requires access to K’aresh. Start the K’aresh campaign by speaking with Locus-Walker in Dornogal.
If you have completed the campaign on another character, you can enter Tazavesh immediately and get the quest to unlock the quest for your Reshii Wraps. If this is your first time, you will need to progress through the campaign until the quest “The Tabiqa”, where you will be rewarded with the Reshii Wraps.
Once you have the Reshii Wraps, either by skipping or completing the campaign, you can begin the quest “A Skip Through the Void.” Completing this quest grants you the ability to Phase Dive, which is required to find Sthaarbs.
Locate and Defeat Sthaarbs
S’thaarbs is located in the phase diving version of K’aresh. When the Rare has spawned and is active, he can be located in the center of The Oasis Eco-Dome.
In order to fight him, whilst in the Phase Diving version of K’aresh, head over to the main quest hub in the Oasis, stand close to the Gateway (shown below) and you will get an Extra Action button that teleports you to the platforms to reach Sthaarbs.
The Sthaarbs fight is simple, you just need to DPS him and be aware of the 3 abilities the Rare will cast.
You should be aware of Sthaarbs’ 3 abilities:
- Lingering Curse is a 15 second DoT that deals damage to the player it's applied to.
- Mindblast Beam will shoot out orbs in the direction shown by the lines coming out of the player, avoid these as they will knock you if you get hit. If you are doing this solo, you shouldn’t need to worry about his ability, just make sure not to move when the cast goes off.
- If your platform is targeted by Repulsive Gaze, run into one of the circles at the edge of the platform to jump to another platform to avoid being knocked off.
Once Sthaarbs has been defeated, you will be removed from the phase diving realm and safely parachuted down to the ground. Run over to where Sthaarbs landed on the ground, and you will be able to loot the Rare, which gives you a chance at the Sthaarbs’s Last Lunch Ground Mount.
Remember that this is a weekly lock-out per character, so you can repeat it on as many characters as you have Phase Diving unlocked on; and make sure to check the group finder for any groups that might form when Sthaarbs is up for them.
