How to get the Lab-grown Stormray Mount
The Lab-Grown Stormray is a Midnight flying mount awarded for completing the achievement Staring Into the Void. This achievement requires you to fully upgrade the Research Console in Voidstorm.
Before you can begin upgrading the Research Console, you’ll need access to Voidstorm and Renown 2 with The Singularity. Reaching Renown 2 awards Unavoidable Discoveries, which unlocks the quest “Researching the Storm”, granting access to the Research Console.
This guide will walk you through unlocking the Voidstorm zone and the 3 week process of fully upgrading the Research Console. While the mount is timegated, the weekly steps are quick and can be completed passively while participating in Voidstorm activities. Before you begin, it’s recommended to focus on one character. The Singularity Renown track is Warband-wide, but the Research Console itself is character-specific, so all upgrades must be completed on the same character.
Unlocking Voidstorm
To access the Voidstorm you’ll need to be at least level 86 and complete all 14 required campaign chapters:
- The Light’s Summons
- Whispers in the Twilight
- Shadowfall
- Ripple Effects
- Dis Was Our Land
- Path of de Hash’ey
- Where War Slumbers
- De Amani Never Die
- Of Caves and Cradles
- Call of the Goddess
- Emergence
- The Path of Light
- Regrets of the Past
- The Darkening Sky
Once these chapters are complete, Magister Umbric will be waiting for you in Silvermoon City to begin the Into the Abyss campaign chapter and open the portal to Voidstorm.

Unlocking The Research Console
Earning Renown 2 with The Singularity awards Unavoidable Discoveries, which unlocks the quest “Researching the Storm” from Void Researcher Anomander. Completing this quest grants access to the Research Console and unlocks the upgrade track.
Both the Research Console and quest giver, Void Researcher Anomander, can be found in Voidstorm: The Howling Ridge.

Reaching Renown 2 requires a total of 5,000 reputation, which is earned Warband-wide. The fastest way to gain reputation is by participating in Voidstorm open-world content, including:
- Voidstorm main campaign chapters & side quests
- World Quests
- Defeating Rare Enemies (once per day per rare)

Upgrading the Void Research Console
Fully upgrading the Void Research Console requires 7 Uncontaminated Void Samples, obtained over the course of 3 weeks.
Week 1 rewards 3 Uncontaminated Void Samples gained from unlocking the Research Console, completing the weekly quest “Research Console: Exploring the Void” from Void Researcher Anomander, and finishing the Stormarion Assault event.
From Week 2 onward, Uncontaminated Void Samples are only obtained by completing the weekly quest “Research Console: Exploring the Void” and the Stormarion Assault event.
