We caught up with Gingi ahead of the MDI Global Finals to get his thoughts on the competition, HOLY Method’s preparation, and their expectations. Check out the interview below!
Were you guys happy with the performance in MDI Group A?
Yeah, I mean I would say that we played the group stage for what it was, which means that we were trying to get first place, qualify for the Global Finals, but do it in a way where we don’t show all of our cards. And I feel like we did that. You saw us play at a pretty decent level. But going into the finals, you’ll definitely see a level above what we showed in the group.
On social media you claimed that you don’t deserve any praise after the group stage. Why was that?
That was because I wasn’t happy with our Eco-Dome +23. We took way too long on that one. I was not super happy with our performance at that point, I was a bit tilted. [laughs] I probably shouldn’t have gone on Twitter at that time.
How are you feeling going into the MDI Global Finals weekend?
We’re feeling as ready as we can, honestly. I mean, right now we are looking at some fine-tuning in some of the dungeons, just going through reps. There’s not really anything we need to prepare anymore, so it’s just about playing through all the dungeons. Yeah, just… getting the momentum, getting the repetition in all of the dungeons to increase consistency. That’s where we’re at right now.
Which team will be the toughest competition?
I’d say that Missed Count is looking the strongest right now out of all the other teams.
