How to Find Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents

In Phantom Blade Zero, Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents, can be found deep in Crimson Forest. You will first need to unlock the area by progressing through the main story quests, and then complete initial objectives along the path forward, including:
- Defeating Hua Qianxiao, The Sword Fanatic.
- Helping the trapped thief & discovering his treasure.
- Defeating Jing Ye, The Outlaw.
- Returning the Nimble Thief's letter to the Gentle Thief and passing through the Thieves Camp.
- Follow the path down through the cave towards the Forest Outpost.
How to Find the Forest Outpost Key

Once you reach the Forest Outpost, you will need to find the courtyard key. Clear out the enemies in the area and then head over to the building marked in the screenshot above.
You can find the Forest Outpost Key sitting on one of the small tables.

How to Beat Stone Hand Iron Fever

The next obstacle you will face is the Iron Fever boss. He's a close-ranged fighter who uses melee strikes with his gauntlets. He's not as hard as some other bosses - just parry his main combos or use your Phantom Edges to interrupt him, he has pretty open windows for perfect dodges and blocks/parrying.
Both the Hunter's Chain Sickle and Dread Axe can chew through chunks of his HP bar when you add them in between your main combos. Though, I would recommend equipping Outlaw Warblade for this fight if you haven't already, as Iron Fever breaks through the stagger meter with ease, and Outlaw Warblade helps to resist this stagger.

After being him, you'll get the Iron Gauntlets, enabling you with close-ranged punching combos that build Fist Focus, increasing your damage dealt. They also have that high shield-breaking power we just mentioned, so if you need a weapon to help go for staggers, they can be of assistance.
Continue beyond this fight, and you will eventually come across the Mirrorwood Long Pillar, where the first optional boss fight occurs against the powerful foe, the Gold-Masked one. You don't need to do that now, though, so I'd recommend ringing the bell and then coming back to tick it off later. The same goes for the Banyan Heart trial that follows, though you'll need to complete this later to help upgrade Soul's strength in battle.

Keep making your way forward until you reach the Mirrorwood Depths part of the Crimson Forest. Here you will need to pass a puzzle to do with the mysterious weeping you've been hearing throughout your journey so far, which will lead you to the boss fight against Lady of the Twin Serpents.
Weeping Forest Portals Puzzle Solution

Now you will arrive at the Mirrorwood Depths area. This is an open section of misty forest with some children running around playing, and a series of portals spaced out. There's also a couple of Memory Flowers to grab too.
If the portals seem to lead you nowhere, then don't worry. There's a simple trick to it. If you investigate the area enough, you'll be able to notice a carving on the tree telling you to follow the weeping.

That is literally all you need to do to move forward - listen to each of the portals and progress through the one where the weeping is the loudest.

You will need to do this a few times over to complete the puzzle. Eventually, the mist in the area will clear, removing the portals and opening up the true path forward.

Follow this to head towards the boss fight but remember to save at a bell first if you haven't done so in a while. The last place to do so before the fight is at Threadbound Great Tree, which also finally marks the location where you'll face Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents.

How to Beat Lady of the Twin Serpents

Lady of the Twin Serpents is a multi-stage boss fight with powerful combos, as well as additional snake targets, AOE damage effects, and the ability to disappear and reappear between strikes.
A strong option to take into this fight is Outlaw's Warblade / Sanguine Twin / Hunter's Chain Sickle / . You can shuffle this around a bit if you need, but it does the job, with Outlaw's Warblade doing most of the heavy lifting.
Best Loadout for Fighting Lady of the Twin Serpents

- Weapon 1: Outlaw's Warblade
- Weapon 2: Sanguine Twin
- Phantom Edge 1: Hunter's Chain Sickle
- Phantom Edge 2: Iron Gauntlets
Once again, Outlaw's Warblade proves itself in boss fights. It's a brilliant choice to help take down Lady of the Twin Serpents, due to the stagger resistance, which is crucial in surviving the aggressive, fast-paced combos, volleys, and teleports. It's the best weapon for this fight at this point.
Sanguine Twin is too good to swap out here due to the sheer speed of the fast combos, letting you stack rapid hits for damage during the animations and resets between her moves, or once she's staggered.
Iron Gauntlets have taken the heavy Dread Axe's place for this fight. Dread Axe is simply far too slow for bosses like her, and she will combo you before you can even get a hit out.
Ultimately, you'll probably end up using Hunter's Chain Sickle more in this fight in terms of Phantom Edges, as it can hit Lady of the Twin Serpents with a bit more range, making it handy to throw in after a dodge or her mobility attacks.
Iron Gauntlets are also an option for helping to hit staggers quicker, but it's often safer to just block and wait for the opening rather than rush Bai Chilian as she's so speedy.
Lady of the Twin Serpents Boss Fight Tips

- The most important thing to look out for is Bai Chilian's draining attack, which triggers after she disappears and reappears. Be ready to dodge this, block the follow-up strikes, and then strike as soon as the window is there for you to pivot into offense.

- Swap your weapons immediately to keep your defense up, always ready to block her sudden strikes. It's best to always swap back to Outlaw's Warblade whenever the cooldown has been reset, as it brings the most value to the fight.

- In the second phase of the fight, Bai Chilian takes things up another notch. She gains more range and can send sweping snake attacks towards you, dealing significant damage and knockback. However, these attacks are also a great opportunity to deplete her stagger with blocks and parries, as you're only able to get combos in when she's grounded.

- If she spawns giant serpents from the ground with a large wind vortex AOE, you first need to make your way around all of the serpents and cut them down individually. This will stop the AOE attack and let you re-engage at closer range.
Lady of the Twin Serpents Fight Reward

After finally defeating Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents, you will gain some rewards. The first is White Serpent & Crimson Viper, a new dual-bladed weapon set that can trigger spinning blade attacks around you, plus ranged executions, which opens up a whole new world of combat finisher possibilities from afar.
White Serpent & Crimson Viper also offers a slight minimum damage increase upgrade from the base Sanguine Twin weapon, so this might be the time to finally swap that trusted dual-wield out and try this for something new. You will also gain a Resonance Talisman from completing this boss fight, which enables you to increase your Sha-Chi by 15%, helping to set you up for the next wave of fights in the chapter ahead.
