The Darkway is one of the two Midnight delves inside of Silvermoon City. It is set inside the Arcway in Suramar, where the Twilight Blade has taken over. In this guide we will go over the Delve mechanic, Trash mobs and Boss mechanics, as well as all the story variations and Sturdy Chest Locations for Collegiate Calamity.
There are 3 versions of The Darkway delve:
- Focusers Under Pressure
- Leyline Technician
- Ogre Powered

The Darkway Delve Overview
This section covers things relevant to all versions of The Darkway.
Delve Mechanic
The delve mechanic specific for the Darkway is called Arcane Arteries, where huge amounts of Magical Energies are supposed to arc and zap the ground. However this mechanic was bugged throughout Beta, so we will add more information once we see it live.
Delve Mobs
These are the mobs we feel are worth highlighting in The Darkway.
Shadowtaint Anomaly is an elite who does a small amount of melee damage. He has a cast called Arcane Slicer, which targets a single player and fires a large beam towards their location. This locks on and has a small arm time, which means you can sidestep it, even if you are in melee.
Spellshield Collaborator is a melee mob, with the Spell Reflection ability, which will reflect a single spell cast back at the target. Be careful not to reflect big damage or DoTs back at yourself.
Shadowfuse Sentinel are elite mobs who do fairly high physical damage, and have 2 abilities you need to be weary of. The first is Discharge, which is a quick cast that spawns a large circle around the Sentinel, dealing damage to everyone inside. This can and should be interrupted as the circle is too large to move out of easily. The second is Mystic Blast, which causes puddles to fall to the ground and deal heavy damage if you are caught in them.
Delve Boss
The boss for this The Darkway is Twilight Gulkat.
- Abyssal Burst is a large frontal cone, which deals heavy damage if you remain in the cone.
- Illusory Deceit means Gulkat summons 5 to 6 adds, which have purple circles around them. The adds start a fairly long cast that ends with them dying with an explosion within the purple circle. While they cast they slowly following you.
- Shadow Bolt is an interruptible single target cast which deals shadow damage.
When dealing with Gulkat, make sure you have a lot of space around him to manage both the frontal cone and moving from the adds at the same time. There is no point dpsing the adds as they die on their own anyway, so just make sure you are not in the circles when their casts finish.
If you have Valeera in DPS mode she will always interrupt Shadow Bolt, meaning you don’t need to worry about it, if not you should interrupt as often as possible on your own.
Focusers Under Pressure - Story Variant
In the Focusers Under Pressure version of the Darkway you will be assisting Technician Mireile with repairing the broken leylines around the Delve.
To start the delve you will need to inspect the Shattered Ley Line crystals, by clicking on them. This will give you the task to collect six new crystals from around the delve. We have included a route as you will need to go back to the entrance once you have collected all six. Once you have placed all six you can take on the boss.

Leyline Technician - Story Variant
In the Leyline Technician Version of the Darkway you must inspect leylines.
To begin, speak to Technician Mireile. You will get a progress bar which you fill by clicking on leylines around the delve. We recommend following the route below, as it will end at the boss location with the progress complete.

Once the bar is full the boss will spawn.
Ogre Powered - Story Variant
In the Ogre Powered version of The Darkway you deal with the aftermath of an exploding ogre.
At the start of Ogre Powered you confront Infiltrator Gulkar, who appears as a large shadowy Ogre in the center of the delve. When you interact with him, he explodes and flies backwards through the delve.
The second objective is to kill seven Unstable Aberrations, found throughout the delve. The Aberrations deal heavy damage with their Arcane Deluge channel, which can be interrupted. If you run Valeera as DPS she will interrupt the channel, otherwise you need to interrupt it yourself.
Once the Aberrations are all dead it’s time to kill the boss. We recommend following the route below to find all seven Unstable Aberrations and end up where the boss spawns.

The Darkway Sturdy Chest Locations
There are a total of 3 Sturdy Chests located within The Darkway. You don’t need any special delves to be active in order to access them. They are all located in the main central room.

/way 52.99 43.07 Sturdy Chest 2
/way 41.62 48.25 Sturdy Chest 3
