Bloody Tokens are a returning PvP currency in Midnight, rewarded for doing content with War Mode active. Even if you don’t enjoy PvP, Bloody Tokens might be a great way to get started gearing a character early in the season, as they can be traded for Veteran Track gear, and you don’t need to actively fight other players to collect them.
In this guide we have outlined all the best ways to farm Bloody Tokens in Midnight.
Turning on War Mode
To start collecting Bloody Tokens you will need to turn on War Mode. To turn on War Mode you need to be in either Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Silvermoon or in the Master’s Perch in the Voidstorm Zone.
If you then open your talent screen you will be able to click on the War Mode button in the bottom right hand corner. Note: Having War Mode turned on in a non-sanctuary zone makes you attackable by enemy players. It also puts you in a different phase to non-War Mode players. However, that doesn’t mean that every player in War Mode is just waiting to beat you up. Most of the time you will not be attacked, and hardly even notice that War Mode is turned on.
If you wish to turn War Mode off you can do so by clicking on the War Mode button in any rest area.
Weekly Sparks of War Quest
The weekly Sparks of War Quest is by far the best place to start, as it rewards 1000 Bloody Tokens. You pick up this quest from Zerella in Silvermoon. She is located near the PvP vendors.

The quest objective is to collect 100 Spark of War. You collect these from a few different activities:
- Collecting Repeatable Treasures
- Doing PvP World Quests
- Killing other Players in War Mode
- Looting War Supply Crates
If you want to avoid PvP we would recommend collecting repeatable treasures, as they should not be highly contested. If enemy players are hanging around a treasure you can just leave it and fly to another one.
War Supply Crates
War Supply Crates are a good way to collect Bloody Tokens. They spawn every 45 minutes in each zone and drop 50 tokens. When they spawn, a zone wide announcement happens and a helicopter appears and drops the chest in a random location. The War Supply Crates are usually highly contested, as only one faction can claim the crate. Once claimed, anyone from that faction can loot it.
The crates continue to drop in older zones, so if you want to farm Bloody Tokens but reduce the chance of meeting enemy players, you can go to older zones. The downside to that is that you lose the potential of getting other drops which come from the Midnight zones War Supply crates. If you do want to use an older zone, we recommend using Nazjatar, as this zone takes quite a few quests to unlock, making it very quiet.
PvP World Quests
Completing PvP World Quests will reward however many Bloody Tokens are listed as a reward on the tooltip of that specific World Quest.
Killing Other Players
You receive 1 Bloody Token per enemy player you kill. This is likely the least effective way to gain Bloody Tokens.
Where to Spend Bloody Tokens
To spend Bloody Tokens you need to find Knight-Lord Bloodvalor, who can be found in Silvermoon city with the other PvP vendors.

Rewards from Bloody Tokens
You can buy Veteran Track PvP gear for all slots except trinkets, necks and rings. This gear might be a good upgrade even for PvE players early in Midnight, before mythic+ and raids have opened, even if versatility isn’t your best stat.
To buy every single piece you need 8225 Bloody Tokens (or 9975 tokens if you are a fury warrior dualwielding 2-hand weapons).
We hope this guide helped you understand what you need to do to earn Bloody Tokens, which are a nice source of gear at the start of the expansion. Check out more of our Midnight Guides for more Midnight content.
