Stat Outline
Mastery: Monster Within provides a massive increase to Cosmic damage dealt, and the value is increased even further inside Void Metamorphosis. Mastery is Devourer’s strongest stat and should be prioritized in every gear slot.
Haste increases spell casting speed, and importantly reduces the channel time of Void Ray. Haste lets you extend Void Metamorphosis for longer, and effectively reduces Void Metamorphosis’ cooldown by allowing more casts, and thus higher soul generation.
Critical Strike is technically a good stat for Devourer, due to Critical Strike amplifiers such as Calamitous and Midnight. However, it gets overshadowed by the fact that the spec loves Mastery and Haste so much that any other stat seems weak in comparison.
Versatility provides a flat Damage and Healing increase, while also providing Damage Reduction at half the value.
Races
Demon Hunter has three playable races: Blood Elf, Night Elf and Void Elf.
The damage output between the races is more or less identical, so feel free to play whichever race you prefer.
Night Elf is looking strong for Mythic+, and allows Doomsayer resets in combat with Shadowmeld (does not apply to raid encounters).
Void Elf provides a great mobility tool which can prove useful in raid encounters.
Blood Elf has an AoE purge with Arcane Torrent, which is only really used in niche situations.
Enchants

Chest: Enchant Chest - Mark Of The Worldsoul

Boots: Enchant Boots - Lynx's Dexterity

Weapon: 1x Enchant Weapon - Berserker's Rage and 1x Enchant Weapon - Arcane Mastery

Gems
Indecipherable Eversong Diamond is a unique gem that provides primary stat, you will always use one of these.
Powerful Eversong Diamond is another option. While it increases your Critical Strike effectiveness by 0.15% per unique gem colour, it grants far less primary stat.
There are four gem colours, the best ones for Devourer are listed below:
- Best Amethyst gem: Flawless Quick Amethyst
- Best Peridot gem: Flawless Masterful Peridot
- Best Lapis gem: Flawless Masterful Lapis
- Best Garnet Gem: Flawless Masterful Garnet
Currently, Devourer wants Flawless Quick Amethyst in every gem slot, due to not using Powerful Eversong Diamond or an embellishment that wants different coloured gems.
Note: You want to use gems that give 2 different secondary stats since they provide more stats than the single secondary stat gems.
