windwalker monk Best in Slot Gear

Provide best in slot gear tables: Overall, Raiding and M+. These can either be the best gear FROM that activity, or the best gear FOR that activity. You can also include text before and after the tables if you want to mention other options or make disclaimers.

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Windwalker Monk, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

Trinkets

Recommended On Use Trinkets:

  • Best: Araz’s Ritual Forge, Unyielding Netherprism, Lily of the Eternal Weave
  • Good: Cursed Stone Idol, Signet of the Priory

Recommended Passive Trinkets:

  • Best: Astral Antenna, Improvised Seaforium Pacemaker
  • Good: Sigil of the Cosmic Hunt, Empowering Crystal of Anub’ikkaj, Screams of a Forgotten Sky

Embellishments

Recommended Embellishments:

  • Belt or Wrists with Writhing Armor Banding
  • Weapon with Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension

Alternative Embellishments:

  • Belt & Wrists with Duskthread Lining
  • Belt & Wrists with Elemental Focusing Lens

Note: This choice comes down to your weapon and loot situation. With the continued scaling of 2-handed weapons in 11.2,the introduction of the Reshii Wraps artifact cloak, and the boots from Soul Hunters; there’s a good chance you need to place your embellishments elsewhere and with the limitation of Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension being only available on weapons, you may choose the alternative below. Dusk/Dawnthread Lining pulls ahead in multi-target situations where Elemental Focusing Lens is slightly better on single-target.

Reshii Wraps

Reshii Wraps is a new Cloak released in Patch 11.2 and will be the only cloak you use (and the only one that can drop from any content in Season 3). You gain access to it via a quest chain and completing chapter 3 of the main patch storyline.

The Reshii Wraps are upgradable via Ethereal Strands and can have secondary stats of your choice added to it.

To add a secondary stat to the Reshii Wraps you use a Fiber in the Fiber Socket of the Cloak. The highest quality version of the Fibers requires a work-order to a Tailor.

When picking a Fiber, I strongly recommend simming your character for the best stat for your current gear and intended content. If you just want a quick recommendation for which Reshii Fiber to use, then use Pure Energizing Fiber (Mastery).

To find out more about the Reshii Wraps, you can read the Method Reshii Wraps Overview Guide.

Puzzling Cartel Chips

Patch 11.2.5 brings the return of the Turbo Boost to Season 3 that was initially introduced late in Season 2 of The War Within. This functions similarly like it did previously; You will be able to obtain up to 9 Puzzling Cartel Chips that can be exchanged at a vendor for any weapon, trinket, or ‘very rare’ item from Manaforge Omega, along with any trinket from the current Mythic+ dungeon pool. My recommendations for purchasing are as follows: Disclaimer: Make sure to sim your character for the best upgrade you should get as everyone’s gear loadout is different. In addition, these are not particularly in order and you should choose the best option based on your character’s needs.

  • 2-Handed Weapon - Your weapon item level has the greatest impact on your damage. If you haven’t been able to get a Myth track crafted weapon at 720 by this point then a Myth track 723 2-handed weapon might be your biggest increase in damage.
  • Interloper’s Reinforced Sandals - This has incredible synergy with the Reshii Wraps artifact cloak and obtaining these on Myth track actually boosts the secondary effect to a maximum of 50%. This can be a sizable increase to your damage, but you’ll have to defeat Mythic Soul Hunters before you’re able to buy these.
  • Unyielding Netherprism - While there are many good trinkets from Manaforge Omega, this is probably the most flexible in terms of application. With Araz’s Ritual Forge being stuck on a 2 minute cooldown, and Lily of the Eternal Weave being a 1 minute 30 second cooldown, the Netherprism can be used at either of those timings and excel and can be particularly potent on the later fights in Manaforge Omega when combined with the damage amps present or even in Mythic+ when your tank does a big pull.
  • Other Trinkets - After you’ve obtained Netherprism, then picking up Araz’s Ritual Forge, Lily of the Eternal Weave, or even a strong passive trinket can become the best option to spend your Chips on as strong trinkets can be harder to come by.
  • Sim What’s Left - After you’ve picked up everything else, your best bet would be to sim what’s left for your character or perhaps look towards picking up trinkets that would be good for offspecs that you enjoy playing.
