Windwalker Monk Midnight Gearing Guide

Midnight Season 2 Windwalker Monk Tier Set Bonuses:

• (2) Set Bonus: Fists Of Fury strikes an additional time at the start of its channel at 50% effectiveness.
• (4) Set Bonus: Fists Of Fury increases the damage of your next Rising Sun Kick by 10% or Spinning Crane Kick by 20% each time it strikes, stacking up to 6 times.

Tier Set Discussion:

On the surface it reads like many other tier sets we’ve had in the past, but this tier set is exceptionally powerful and alters your rotation especially in AoE.

At 2 or more targets you want to use Spinning Crane Kick after your Fists of Fury channels to consume the 4 piece buff. This can be a hard habit to build but is very much worth it.

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Windwalker Monk, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

Recommended On Use Trinkets:

• Best: Voracious Heart Of Ula'tek
• Good: Freightrunner's Flask, Vile Vial Of Volatile Venom

Voracious Heart Of Ula'tek provides a lot of Agility and the secondary effect of proccing physical damage and further increasing the Agility is very powerful. Keep in mind that most of these (except Vile Vial Of Volatile Venom) are 90 sec cd trinkets so we’ll be playing Xuen's Bond as Conduit of the Celestials to facilitate that.

Recommended Passive Trinkets:

• Best: Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique (ST), Gebbo's Bottomless Bag (AoE)
• Good: Sapling Of The Dawnroot, Keeper's Seething Core

Zul'jin's Guillotine Technique is very powerful on single target situations with Gebbo’s random secondary stats becoming better at higher target counts.

Sapling Of The Dawnroot and Keeper's Seething Core are okay alternatives with the damage that the Sapling does being ok and the extra haste from the Seething Core being useful albeit not as powerful as the procs from Gebbo’s.

Recommended Embellishments:

1. Bracers, Cloak or Boots with Arcanoweave Lining
2. Bracers, Cloak or Boots with Arcanoweave Lining

Notable mention is a 2-handed weapon on Myth track but there are so many good statted 2-handers available this season that you can get via bonus rolls that it’s probably not worth crafting.

Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls)

The Midnight Season 2 Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcore) will be available from the second week of the season as an alternative reward from your Great Vault. More sources for the bonus rolls will become available later into the Season.

Nebulous Voidcore Bonus Rolls let you target specific loot from a Raid Boss or Mythic+ Dungeon; once an item is received via Bonus Loot, that item is removed from the Bonus Loot Pool.

It’s important to note that bonus rolling Ula’tek on Heroic will give you a standard Myth track piece whereas bonus rolling Ula’tek on Mythic will give you a 9/6 Myth track piece. This combined with her exceptionally good loot makes her a very attractive bonus roll target on either of those difficulties.

Omnium Folio

The Omnium Folio is a new player power system, released in Midnight Patch 12.0.7 and active for the duration of the Midnight WoW Expansion. By completing a weekly quest, you will unlock more of the Omnium Folio upgrade Tree and can choose from a number of player power enhancements.

Recommended Omnium Folio Powers for Windwalker Monk:

• Row 1: Rune Of Void-Touched Orbs (Single Target), Rune Of Unleashed Fire (2+ targets)
• Row 2: Any; none of these add DPS
• Row 3: Rune Of Lingering
• Row 4: This row highly depends on your own stats so sim your own character (This includes the flask you use as well) but the sim uses Rune Of Critical Power (Single Target), Rune Of Masterful Cunning (3+ targets)
• Row 5: Rune Of Overload
