Arcane Mage Gearing Guide

Season 2 Arcane Mage Tier Set:

• (2) Set Bonus: Your spells and abilities have a small chance to hit a Jackpot! granting you Clearcasting and 5% increased spell damage for 12 sec. Casting Touch of the Magi always hits a Jackpot!
• (4) Set Bonus: When you hit a Jackpot!, you also gain Aether Attunement at 100% effectiveness.

Tier set Thoughts and Conclusions

As far as the 2 Set goes, we don't have much control over it, it’s a pretty random damage proc.I don't like that you can waste a Clearcasting proc from the tier set if you already have 3 stacks of Clearcasting, so it’s something we need to pay attention to, never sit on 3 Clearcasting stacks.

The 4 set is pretty nice, especially for AoE/Cleave. However, it’s the same deal as the 2 set bonus, we have to make sure we don’t have Aether Attunement already because we don’t want to waste this proc. This makes spending an aether attunement that we already have a top priority before entering our touch windows

I think it’s nice to have 100% chance on Aether Attunement whenever we cast Touch of the Magi, it basically guarantees we always get a strong missile going into our Touch of the Magi.

This is the absolute best in slot setup for Arcane Mage that you could have combined from both M+ and raid items.

With that being said, we consider that not everyone enjoys raiding so I will make a list for alternative items you can get from M+ to be as geared as possible. Keep in mind that this is not a replacement for siming your character, as you will likely not have all these items at once, so to determine what is your next upgrade, always sim yourself.

Recommended Trinkets for Arcane Mage:

• Mug’s Moxie Jug - Powerful passive trinket which gives us crit on proc, not our most desired stat, regardless this trinket is still BiS for us.
• Carved Blazikon Wax - Another strong passive trinket that gives us vers with a proc that can give additional vers if you stand inside the light area
• House of Cards - just a strong on use trinket with Arcane Surge, this trinket gets stronger the more we use it, so it's very strong for longer fights.
• Funhouse Lens - also a great option that lines up with Arcane Surge (1:30 Minute), it gives us a big Crit or Haste buff for the trinket duration.
• Eye of Kezan - passive trinket from the raid, very strong when it is allowed to stack up
• Soulleting Ruby - a good old trinket from Theater of Pain, it’s an on use trinket that travels slowly towards the target, once it reaches the target we gain a huge crit chance buff for our Arcane Surge.
• Any other trinket with a hero or mythic track would be ok for the most part!

Disclaimer: Synergistic Brewterializer is definitely a high performing trinket if played perfectly, however this trinket can be very awkward to use and in most scenarios is likely worse than playing an alternative passive trinket.

Although not a trinket, it's also worth mentioning the Neural Synapse Enhancer Staff from Mechagon workshop dungeon. It has a very strong on use 45 sec CD that gives us a big int buff (note that this shares CD with trinkets). This ultimately determines which trinkets you would want as a pairing, with this staff you would want double passive, and without it you would prefer an on use such as House of Cards or Funhouse Lens

As far as embellishment goes, I'd recommend Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension x2 for raid.

For M+ I would recommend double Versatility embellishment (Duskthread Lining)

What to Buy With Our Dinar

1. Mug’s Moxie Jug
2. The Jastor Diamond
3. House of Cards ( if you dont have a Neural Synapse Enhancer)
4. Eye of Kezan

Currently Neural Synapse Enhancer is not available to buy from the dinar vendor, however if this is changed to be purchasable it would take the spot of House of Cards as our 3rd purchase as we do not use an on use with this staff.

Which Corruptions to Use

In pure single target the best corruption is Echoing Void, however with any added targets Void Ritual becomes our best corruption for aoe and funnel scenarios. Overall I would recommend using Void Ritual for all forms of content as the current raid features fights consisting of multiple targets making Void Ritual the stand out pick

Cyrce’s Circlet

Cyrce’s Circlet is a new ring released in Patch 11.0.7 and can be acquired by doing content on Siren Isle. It has 3 unique gem slots that you can socket a range of new gems into, these gems grant different effects when socketed in the ring.

The currently recommended gem combination is probably not the most exciting. The strongest combo for mage is probably using the triple stat increase gems:

• Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine
• Fathomdweller’s Runed Citrine
• Windsinger’s Runed Citrine

However, you can swap the Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine to use the Thunderlord’s Crackling Citrine (zap gem) for pure single target.
