Arcane Mage Midnight Gearing Guide

Midnight Season 2 Arcane Mage Tier Set Bonuses:

• (2) Set Bonus: Arcane Missiles fires 1 additional Missile and does 20% increased damage
• (4) Set Bonus: Each wave of Arcane Missiles increases the damage of your next Arcane Blast, Arcane Pulse, or Prismatic Bolt! by 3%, up to 24%.

Tier Set Discussion: This tier set is slightly reminiscent of the old talent Nether Precision, but since Arcane Blast does almost no damage, it is not worth playing around at all.

The only thing you want to make sure of is that you always stack your 4-set to the maximum before casting Prismatic Bolt! for the biggest hit. One cast of unclipped Arcane Missiles will get you to the 24% increased damage, which translates to 8 stacks.

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Arcane Mage, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot.

Gebbo's Bottomless Bag - your absolute BiS trinket. It’s completely passive, so you don’t have to play around it in any capacity. Just grants you a random stat randomly.

Freightrunner's Flask - your second BiS trinket. This one grants you Critical Strike on-use and has a 1.5 min CD. You want to make sure to use it with your Arcane Surge every single time, since it lines up perfectly.

Wavecaller's Seastone - a solid alternative to Gebbo's Bottomless Bag. Just a passive intellect gain, so you do not need to play around it.

Hex Lord's Dooming Idol - a decent alternative to Freightrunner's Flask, if for some reason you cannot obtain it.

The current best performing Embellishments in Midnight for Arcane Mage is 1x Arcanoweave Lining, which can be crafted on any armor piece, and Hunter's Ritual Stone, which can be crafted on any weapon. I would recommend crafting the Arcanoweave Lining on Wrists or Cloak, and the Hunter’s Ritual Stone on an offhand.

Alternatively, I would recommend crafting a 2-hander Staff Aln'hara Cane early into the season due to the massive number of stats weapons provide.

These Embellishments are BiS for both raid and M+.

Nebulous Voidcores (Bonus Rolls)

The Midnight Season 2 Bonus Rolls (Nebulous Voidcore) will be available from the start of the season as an alternative reward from your Great Vault. More sources for the bonus rolls will become available later into the Season.

Nebulous Voidcore Bonus Rolls let you target specific loot from a Raid Boss or Mythic+ Dungeon; once an item is received via Bonus Loot, that item is removed from the Bonus Loot Pool.

Omnium Folio

The Omnium Folio is a new player power system, released in Midnight Patch 12.0.7 and active for the duration of the Midnight WoW Expansion. By completing a weekly quest, you will unlock more of the Omnium Folio upgrade Tree and can choose from a number of player power enhancements.

Recommended Omnium Folio Powers for Arcane Mage:
