Welcome to Method’s Fire Mage class guide.
Hello there, my name is Tamir, some of you may know me as Tam1h have been playing wow since MoP and been playing mage pretty much none stop since WoD, been raiding hardcore for most of Shadowlands and Dragonflight around World #30, while also pushing high keys on most of the seasons.
Now retired Raider but still playing mage at very high level while maintaining the Fire Guide.
What has changed
Midnight Fire Mage Changes
Fire has been through a process of abilities pruning going into Midnight. I will Highlight the abilities that are the most important to address:
- Defensive component from Greater Invisibility and Mirror Image has been removed.
- Mass Barrier has been removed.
- Shifting Power has been removed.
- Ice Floes has been removed and shifted into the Frost Tree.
- Blast Wave has been removed.
- Phoenix Flames has been removed from the fire tree.
- Sun King's Blessing has been baked into Pyroclasm (also works on hardcast Flamestrike).
- Flamestrike also has a targeted choice node similar to warlock Rain of Fire and Blizzard.
- Kindling has changed from Dynamic CDR to Combustion to a Static 60 Seconds reduction, which results in a 1 Minute CD to Combustion.
- Hyperthermia has been removed from the Fire Tree (only in the Sunfury Tree after Combustion Ends).
